About this deal

The ability to measure practice swings is a major plus (no pun intended) for those looking to gain swing speed. Whether you’re training with Super Speed [review HERE] or just swinging your own driver all-out, not knowing how much speed you’re creating is akin to lifting weights without knowing how much is on the bar. The Swing Caddie SC200 Plus delivers the best value for those who just need the basics. The SC200 Plus doesn’t have as many data points as the SC300i, nor does it sync with the Swing Caddie app, but it does measure swings without a ball which is great for speed training. The large, clear display makes it superior to other offerings in this price range. Companion apps like MySwingCaddie and the Garmin Golf app let you do more with your portable launch monitor data and make it easy to use anywhere! ... Also a Golf Simulator? Video feature will auto record once swing is taken and will separate videos for each swing. Note that you will need to be in the video tab of the MySwingCaddie app for the video to be recorded. Swing data is available in video tab and data points can be edited in settings to show exactly what customer wants. It’s easy to setup, easy to use, and you don’t have to spend a ton of time fumbling through a series of app menus to use it.

Target mode allows you to practice against different distances. I set a target for 165 yards and it gives you a point from 1-10 based on how close you get. This can be really helpful if you’re trying to really dial-in your distance dispersion. MySwingCaddie AppThe navigation and user interface of the SC300i is intuitive and user-friendly. The device features a large, easy-to-read LCD screen that displays all relevant data, such as carry distance, ball speed, smash factor, and launch angle. The remote control makes it really easy to switch between clubs or modes. Pros and Cons Because they each have a display, all of the Swing Caddie launch monitors can work without the app. Benefits of having the app experience include being able to have multiple users, seeing your data in multiple ways, and getting video of your swing with data overlay. Basically, you can get a lot more data and swing analyzation with the MySwingCaddie app—and you can share the device, because each user will have their own app account. Swing Caddie SC200 Plus It’s a Doppler radar unit. It measures ballspeed really well in my experience (and that of most Internet reviewers). Both consistent and accurate. It’s consistent, but not accurate, when it measures clubhead speed. So you can chart improvement in your swing as time goes by—bumping your swing speed from, e.g., 95 to 102 as you improve with the driver—but it may not be the speed you’re actually swinging. Other reviewers have noted it’s about 3-5 percent fast. I suspect that swing plane really determines the accuracy of its clubhead speed measurement. So a smash factor measurement is going to have issues. In this comparison, we pulled the seven best portable golf launch monitors in our PlayBetter collection— Swing Caddie SC300i, Garmin Approach R10, Rapsodo MLM2PRO, FlightScope Mevo and Mevo+, and SkyTrak+ —and are giving you the pros and cons of each. Features We Love to Find in the Best Golf Launch Monitor Ball Flight Metrics!

In Practice Mode, the Swing Caddie is advertised as accurate within 3%. This feels about right. As I mentioned above, most of the time the metrics feel pretty close, but especially with longer clubs, a 3% difference can actually be a fairly significant distance. Currently, this Rapsodo has limited compatibility with third-party golf simulation software—but this is common when a launch monitor is first released.

One of the first things I noticed was the inclusion of a remote – which is actually super valuable.

New features include measured spin metrics and full golf simulation features . The MLM2PRO™ uses two new dual cameras and is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. Rapsodo MLM2PRO Pros The new Swing Caddie SC4 is also a doppler-based launch monitor, meaning it uses doppler radar technology rather than camera-based to collect data. These are generally less expensive than camera-based launch monitors, making these golf gadgets accessible to a wider range of golfers. There are two additional steps to take if you want to get the most accurate numbers. First, when you turn it on, a number will appear on the screen. Adjust the tilt of the unit until the number is zero. Second, if you want the horizontal launch angle to be accurate, you’ll need to align the unit with your target. There is a small red line on the top of the Swing Caddie SC4 to help with this, but it’s much easier with the alignment plate. The alignment plate and carrying case are sold separately. I’m also not going to lie, I’m a little confused as to which products are marketed as “Swing Caddie” and which products are “Voice Caddie.”I own a SC200+. I like it, and it is as easy to use as the review indicates, but you have to understand its limitations. To test the accuracy of the Swing Caddie SC4, I ran it head-to-head with my Foresight GCQuad [review HERE] both indoors with premium balls and outdoor with range balls. In all scenarios, I found the SC4 to be as good or better than anything I’ve tested in this price range. The data is typically very close to the GCQuad – often perfectly in line – and never wildly off. Launch direction was the stat that deviated the most and the most often, but it did always point in the correct direction. Ultimately, I would not use the SC4 for a professional club fitting, but it’s more than accurate enough to be a practice tool.
