About this deal

This is a lovely way of getting another perspective of HM Elizabeth. Would definitely recommend it to others who are so inclined. It also made my heart ache when they discussed Diana's death and how she was portrayed as unfeeling. Lighting a candle can be a helpful way to pray, especially when finding the right words can be difficult.

Queen: I Want It All by Greg Brooks | Waterstones

Peter Hince, also affectionately known as Ratty, headed Queen’s road crew during their heyday and, as such, was ideally placed to relate some highly revealing stories from the those lauded times. I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review as part of the book tour hosted by Lovebookstours.

Ho trovato il libro tutto sommato interessante, arricchito di aneddoti sulla famiglia reale e confessioni di ex cortigiani, impiegati di palazzo e cronaca delle varie vicissitudini della royal family. The World has lost a truly great lady. Seventy years of faithful service; a magnificent role model for us all. May Her Majesty Rest in Peace, reunited with her beloved husband. Sincere condolences to His Majesty King Charles and The Royal Family.

In this entertaining and insightful biography, award-winning writer Andrew Morton, author of Diana, Her True Story and Elizabeth & The Intimate World of the Windsor Sisters, takes you behind the scenes to uncover the woman and her world. The book covers Elizabeth's life from birth through to the present day. The royals have been a fascination of many and this book would make a great keepsake for any fan or follower of the monarchy.

Elizabeth was set firmly on the road to becoming sovereign because of the D word – divorce. In 1936, her uncle David, King Edward VIII, wanted to marry a twice-divorced American, Wallis Simpson. When he couldn’t, he abdicated. After that national trauma, divorce and the fall-out from divorce shaped her reign. She witnessed her sister Margaret, three of her children and several grandchildren divorce. And she lived long enough to see the wheel turn full circle, watching as another American divorcee, Meghan Markle, walked down the aisle with her grandson Prince Harry.

I found this an insightful and interesting look at The Queen. It definitely gave me another dimension - not that I ever subsrcibed to the icey, distant woman that she was portrayed as.To our beloved Queen. You lived an extraordinary life and one I looked on with the upmost admiration. Your dedication to this nation gave us the strongest bond and also comfort. I feel sad my young son won’t remember you, but I’ll make sure he knows all about you. We’ll miss everything about you, your smile, humour and love, you were our shining light. Our thoughts and prayers are with your wonderful family. With love from my family Helen, Andrew & Oscar Rideout Our dear Queen Elizabeth II, you served your country and Realms with dedication and diversity., in changing times and modernisation. Thank you for everything. May you Rest in Peace with your beloved Phillip. But Elizabeth did her duty, the young princess pledging before her people that she would dedicate her whole life to the service of Britain and the Commonwealth. She hoped that that day would be a long way off. It was not to be. Only twenty-five when she became Queen after the premature death of her father, King George Vl, Elizabeth became the stuff of the longest reigning , most travelled and, for a shy woman, the Queen who shook more hands and made more small talk than any other monarch in history . She was seen and believed by millions, either in person, on television or film.
