About this deal

In Sept 2018 AVM announced a new FRITZ!Repeater 3000 with 3 WLAN modules and two 1 Gbit ports as a stand-alone model: Yes, the was the point of my original question as I wasn't sure if the communication between the 7490 and 3000 was entirely based on the same wi-fi that gets turned on & off. Finally got around to doing a factory default reset earlier today. Sorry for the slow reply, just been too busy to do it. Or are you trying to integrate it into the MESH system? Only press the connect button for about a second rather than 6 seconds. With Mesh WiFi you can combine several wireless access points into one intelligent system (FRITZ!OS 6.90 and later) Find out more at en.avm.de/mesh

Travel Tech We’ve tested out dozens of products over the last few years to bring you review of gadgets to take on the move. Is anyone else finding that after updating the repeater to 7.27 firmware they're now getting a message saying their repeater isn't meshed? Once set up you’ll need to find a good position, you want to place this where the existing WiFi signal is OK rather than non-existent. The repeater takes your existing signal and boosts it so it is stronger and can reach further. the other repeater is a Mesh Repeater, regardless of whether it is a FRITZ!Repeater, FRITZ!Powerline adapter or FRITZ!Box. If you are using a FRITZ!Box with FRITZ!OS 7 or later, the FRITZ!Repeater is automatically integrated into the FRITZ! Mesh during setup. The FRITZ!Repeater adopts all of the FRITZ!Box's Wi-Fi settings, such as access information and guest access, and can be used directly by all of the wireless devices in the home network.Improved** When the repeater is integrated into the Mesh by first pressing the button on the FRITZ!Box and then the button on the repeater, successful integration is signaled by the LED on the repeater flashing briefly

Have a bit of a think about it for a moment...............If the 3000 WiFi is disabled, how would it detect the 7490 WiFi is enabled? AVM have confirmed that this is a mesh throughput bug in the latest 7.50 firmware release for the repeater. the other repeater is a Mesh Repeater, regardless of whether it is a FRITZ!Repeater, FRITZ!Powerline device or FRITZ!Box. so having a bit of time to test the 3000 its a pretty dam good unit and does actually work in the full mesh standard , the other standard it uses is for its smart home tech which we prob wont see here

From the ideal placement to the optimal radio channel: The repeater supports you with LEDs, software wizards and a clear, user-friendly interface. The FRITZ!Repeater 3000 also benefits from new features provided in free updates. Secure encryption for your Wi-Fi network

Works very well with my Fritz!Box router, extending WiFi coverage in a difficult area of my old stone cottage whilst maintaining maximum speed. Yesterday? I have been running this for a few weeks actually. I don't understand why https://en.avm.de/fritz-lab/f resh-from-development/fresh-from-development/ still shows an older beta.

At that point I realised that it wasn't going to come good by itself, so worked out that a looong press oof the WPS button ~20 seconds forces a reset. Rebooting the 7590 made no difference. you want to extend your home network in a specific direction beyond the Wi-Fi range of the existing Mesh Repeater.
