I think Khaine was always really awkward in this regard, way back in Warhammer Fantasy Third Edition he was explicitly referred to as an example of an evil deity who wasn't affilliated with Chaos but given his name and sphere seem so similar to Khorne and he was worshipped by the Dark Elves (who way back then were explicitly Chaos corrupted), you obviously had to ask questions.
