About this deal
It’s unfortunate that these do not come in half sizes. I was in men’s 9s in 2019 and went with 10s this time when in reality I would best fit a 9.5 since they are open-toed sandals. Using the heel strap gives you the control to have sandals that are a little longer, but still secure. The Z-Trek boasts a thinner 5.5mm FeelTrue® outsole, giving you just the right amount of protection without sacrificing the barefoot ground feel you love. At just over 5oz in a women's size 7, you might just forget you're even wearing shoes! For me, the overall shape of the sandal was too narrow around the toe area and the toepost-less design of the Z-Trek requires anchor points for it’s webbing over and across your toes. Since the anchor points are placed high off the ground for durability, they form a wall of rubber to the left and right of your toes. This wall causes my big and pinky toes to squeeze and rub against the rubber inside of the sandal.
The primary difference between the Xero Z-trails and other sandals is the strapping system, which goes over the top of the foot instead of between the toes on all other shoesIf you are rubber sensitive or looking for a more water-ready shoe? All of our children’s shoes are wider than conventional children’s shoes. If you normally wear a larger size to get a wider fit in conventional shoes, you may not have to do that with Xero Shoes. At first glance, the Amuri Z-Trek shares a passing resemblance to the popular Pah Tempe running sandal from Unshoes. However, if you have wide feet like mine, you may have some difficulty with the Z-Trek for a number of reasons. Adapting to Minimalist Footwear takes time: For normal walking and hiking on moderate terrain, nearly anyone should be able to adapt to these shoes if common sense is applied. For sprinting and running longer distances, if you’re not experienced wearing minimalist footwear research “running in minimalist footwear” for information on how to adapt to running in these shoes while avoiding injuries Best sandals I've owned. And, I've owned a lot- Tevas, Lizard, Chacos, etc. etc. Great comfort and sensitivity.
When people ask, “How long will my Xero Shoes last?” we say, “We don’t know, but it’s going to be a long, long time!” (I’ve put well over 5,000 miles on mine.)
