Zuerst kommt aus dem Raumschiff die Kamera raus, die einer Kobra ähnelt, die sehr beweglich ist, die Lampe sehr stark...außerdem verfügt sie über totbringenden Strahlen. Und sie vernichtete die ersten Ahnungslosen....Dann geht es weiter, die UFO's (sie sehen hnen ein bisschen ähnlich) vernichten mit den Strahlen alles. Buchstäblich. Man sieht die Bilder der Verwüstung.

Der Film hat, was mir sehr imponirert, keinen richtigen Hauptdarsteller, es ist fast so, wie sich Wells das wünschte. Alle, die mitwirken, haben eine Rolle - die schwierigste, die mutigste IST...zu überleben und nicht aufgeben. Und menschlich bleiben. Meine Mutter ärgerte sich sehr und schimpfte mit meinem Bruder, weil er mir das Buch "empfohlen" hat - ich habe es "geklaut", na, ausgeborgt. War vielleicht wirklich zu jung für H.G. Wells, den ich verehre.

The choice of colors too are a big difference with the newer version. Despite mostly filmed at night (or at least set at night), the 1953 version has a color harmony in itself, while the modern version is vulgar and shabby, even in scenes playing in plain daylight. In the classic movie version, one only sees an eye of one, single Alien and that alone is scary enough to send you a chilling feeling up your spine, while in the newer version, they even study (of all things) a bicycle!
