About this deal

The midrange inherits significant warmth and some colour from the bass. Fortunately, there’s still adequate clarity so vocals and instruments don’t sound smeared or dull. Zeus’ tonality lends itself really well to male vocals and string instruments. Female vocals and electric guitars don’t have the same lustre but they’re textured yet inoffensive. Most products from big name-brand audio companies are made in China (perhaps most notably in Shenzhen), and there is a plethora of engineering expertise, manufacturing equipment and raw materials all centralized there. Each necessary component is inexpensively available, and many new Chi-Fi companies simply mix and match components and design, with varying levels of audio quality as a result. And when I connected these headphones for the first time, I immediately noticed that they have an analytical presentation but with a shift towards the bright side, that is, the mid and high frequencies occupy a more dominant position than the bass. Earpads on the Poseidon are made of velvet material, while each earcup is stuffed with a soft foam material. The holes in the earpads are large enough to ensure that my ears don’t touch any part of the inside of the earpad, or the driver baffles itself.

So, the Zeus is ALMOST the same pair of headphones as the Helios. It appears all that HarmonicDyne has changed are: Final Analysis : Who will the HD Zeus please ? : Anyone who likes a warmer tonality , a sweet sound, and enough detail retrieval to be able to see into the music.

All this means that similar (or the same) components show up in a variety of brand names and designs. I recently reviewed the relatively inexpensive Takstar HF 580 planar headphones, which share the same drivers with a few other headphones, some costing more than 3 times the price of the HF 580. Wow, the BOSSHiFi B7 driver and driver structure look the same as the HarmonicDyne headphones. (From: thinkermakerdiyer/Imgur) We’re all familiar with Linsoul. One of the biggest chifi retailers in recent times which had also branched out into the OEM scene with the IEM-centric ThieAudio, and more recently with the headphone-centric HarmonicDyne brand.

Customers have to bear any form of custom/import/processing fees that are applicable for your parcel. The number of adjustments that are available on the Poseidon is fine enough to allow for a wide variety of head sizes, so I wouldn’t worry about finding the right fit in the headband adjustments. I greatly appreciate the included single-ended adapter. Focal doesn’t include one, although they do include a shorter 3.5mm cable for portable use. Design Sounds in the treble can often come off as smeared or imprecise. This is common among headphones at this price range but not desirable. The midrange is much more natural sounding to my ears than the Helios. While the Zeus doesn’t immediately jump out and grab you, these headphones sound excellent with male voices and acoustic music. Zeus has a clean midrange performance; it starts very strong but it isn’t elevated at all. Its neutral to me and doesn’t stand out very often. Voices were rendered pretty nicely with an unmistakable pitch between male and female voices, but in terms of frequency response this is probably the least impressive part. The upper midrange starts rolling-off and sometimes gives an impression of shoutiness, as if some sounds lost their intensity and are playing through a pillow. When I moved to my older jazz tunes that are extremely rich in the midrange section, it was clear to me that Zeus wasn’t soul grabbing to me, there wasn’t that meaty voluptuous sound that I’m in love with my Audeze and Kennerton headphones. It felt by a hair drier, but not to a point of calling them thin or lifeless, because Zeus are not like that at all. It has more of a linear type of midrange that leaves the rest of the spectrum shinning brighter, moving all the spotlights toward bass and treble areas. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my blues and jazz, acoustic music sounded good too, only sometimes I was missing a bolder and heavier tonality of high-end planars, but you can’t really have them all at this price point. As seen in the frequency measurements, the Zeus have greater sub-bass, while the Helios are significantly more energetic above 1kHz through the treble region.

Review: HarmonicDyne Zeus Headphones – It’s Hard to Tell the

You defined the HDZeus as co-equal to the most universally favored set ofHeadphones ever created within the History of sound. These are not hyper treble phones, and i'll get into that more when we get to the midrange section of this mini review. These sounded decent out of my smartphone, but of course far from excellent, they sounded better out of a Surface 7 Pro and considerably better out of dedicated portable audio devices that I’m testing of late. xDuoo XP-2 Pro and FiiO Q3 had enough juice to drive these to deafening levels and the same can be said about desktop headphone amplifiers. Even that uber-tiny Topping A50S was unleashing their maximum potential, with plenty of headroom left on tap, dynamics were sky high and control of the drivers was impeccable. Portable dongles like FiiO BTR5, HiliDAC Beam 2 or Shanling UP4 shouldn’t have issues driving these to very loud levels and of course mid-tiered portable DAPs didn’t have a slightest problem too. This is a warm sounding headphone. The Zeus is biased towards the left of the frequency scale, away from treble, and weighted in the mid-range and bass regions. Comfort : Extremely comfortable headphones. Would be moreso but the strap is metal and the cups are dense wood which all adds up to a touch of weight. To deliver Hi-Fi products that surpass the norm in terms of both Sound Quality and visual intrigue. – Linsoul

HarmonicDyne Zeus Review — Headfonics

use not following the ‘User Guide’ or any additional safety, use, or warnings included in the product materials. All of these issues might be acceptable if the Zeus Elite had very good technicalities. But compared to other similarly-priced headphones, like the aforementioned Sennheiser HD600, the Zeus Elite are a step down in every regard. Upgraded with a new 50mm long-stroke layered diaphragm for improved clarity, definition, and dynamic range. Dual 3.5 mm TRS from headphones to 4.4 mm TRRS connector (w/3.5 mm and 6.35 mm TRS adapters) to source And DMS, well, He is sometimes difficult to read, because he'll not like a headphone's sound in the original review, then list it near the top of his Tier List..He instead made the "newbie" mistake of comparing it to the previous generation, so, this is a prejudicial mistake that a real reviewer of Gear, should never be found committing. The Phoenix has more sub-bass reach and has more physical rumble. Its mid-bass is also more pronounced, relative to the midrange which sounds more recessed compared to the Zeus. Male vocals are leaner but less intimate on the Phoneix while female vocals and electric guitars are lifted. The most obvious comparison would be with Ollo S4X which is a semi-open headphone that I’ve reviewed last year, it is a really good monitoring type of headphone that I’m enjoying immensely for quite some time.
