About this deal

Find and kill all the Zealots: The Zealots can be found in various places around 9th century England. They tend to wander around a bit but if you get near one, they will be marked on your map with a white shield icon. The pacing was mostly fast and there are lots of surprises, twists and turns, but I do feel that the book was just a tad too long. However, I never lost interest and in fact, I read the last 30% in one straight shot, because there was just no good place to stop-I had to see what happened. I was NOT disappointed! Interestingly, the author has never written in English before. Dazieri is Italian and has penned eight bestselling novels and more than 50 screenplays in his native language. Kill The Father is written in what I would call American-English; until I looked the author up I assumed he was from somewhere like New York or LA.

Absorbing, disturbing, clever, bizarre, original and brutal. The outline of the plot is simple, its execution thrilling' - The Times

This intricate Italian thriller introduces one of the oddest couples in crime fiction. Neither one is a poster child for mental health and with good reason. The real question lurking behind their present case is not whether they’ll get their man but if they can survive what they discover. Richard Dadd (1817–1886), the English artist, murdered his father in 1843 following the onset of psychiatric illness. The captive boy is Dante Torre. He was held prisoner for more than a decade by a shadowy man known only as ‘The Father’, who has never been apprehended. He may be dead. Or he may be quietly plotting his next abduction. Jungians have emphasised the power of parent hunger, forcing one repeatedly to seek out unactualised parts of the father archetype in the outside world. [28] One answer men have been offered is to move into generativity; to find the lost father within themselves, the internal father, and hand him on to their successors, [29] thereby shifting from demanding parental guidance to providing it. circle two times the length of his outstretched arms. The first thing the boy learned in that circular world were his new names. He has two. Son is the name he prefers. He has the right to it when he does the right things… otherwise, his name is Beast. When he’s called Beast, the boy is punished. When he’s called Beast, the boy goes cold and hungry. When he’s called Beast, the circular world stinks.Rosine takes her thesis and runs with it through anthropology, mythology, theology, to the opera house and the art gallery. It is a breath taking endeavour. Emperor Yang of Sui (569–618) in Chinese history allegedly killed his father, Emperor Wen of Sui (541–604).

Another sweltering month in Charlotte, another boatload of mysteries past and present for overworked, overstressed forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan. Chiyo Aizawa murdered her father, who had been raping her for fifteen years, on October 5, 1968, in Japan. The incident changed the Criminal Code of Japan regarding patricide.Karađorđe Petrović (1768–1817), the leader of the Serbian uprising against the Ottoman Empire, and eventual leader of independent Serbia, killed his father Petar around 1786 while the family was fleeing Serbia to the safety of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, after Petar threatened to return to Serbia and betray the family to the Turks. E' presente in varie antologie di noir italiano, tra cui "Italia odia" (Piccola Biblioteca 2001) e "Il giallo e l’impegno" (Micromega 2002). A man turns into a father all at once—no warning, no preparation, no classes. Many a woman starts turning into a mother in her early childhood. After all, she spends many hours pretending that she’s holding a baby, feeding it, changing its diapers, and nurturing it. Her doll is her someday child. Whereas the idea of the father complex had originally evolved to deal with the heavy Victorian patriarch, by the new millennium there had developed instead a postmodern preoccupation with the loss of paternal authority—the absence of the father. [19] Alongside the shift from a Freudian emphasis on the role of the father to object relations theory's stress upon the mother, what psychoanalysis tended to single out was the search for the father, and the negative effects of the switched-off father. [20] Deputy Captain Colomba Caselli and Dante Torre .... two protagonists that make up this part psychological puzzle, part conspiracy theory, and part police procedural .... characters you will never forget.
