The vaccine in this book comes sooner than in real life, and I'm okay with that because she had to end the book somewhere. I didn't expect this to be a chronicle of the entire year and a half/two years before we went outside again in a significant way, but I did expect it to have a hopeful/happy ending and that's what we got here. I would have liked to see more Tina (ALWAYS) and Michael, but I enjoyed the update on all the characters, including Olivia, Shameka, Ling Su, and Perrin. High spirited heroine who is just beginning to recognize the effect that men have on her. A hero who is not a jerk. A story line that involves more than just describing their physical attributes and the tingly feelings that each one gets when looking at the other. A few of the factors that combine to make it a great summer read. In Disney's The Princess Diaries 2001, Mia (who was portrayed by Anne Hathaway) is aged 15, unlicensed, and owns a 1965 Mustang. She has similar qualities, but her father dies two months prior to where the movie begins, and her last name is Renaldi instead of Renaldo. She lives in San Francisco instead of New York. She was absolutely part of my foundation as a reader. I was really excited to revisit Mia and her friends and family for this reason. El estilo en el que esto está escrito hace de toda la serie una JOYA. Meg Cabot sabe lo que está haciendo, capaz de hablar desde la voz de una chica de 14 años sin que se perciba como forzado o antinatural... y de paso, entre tiaras y exámenes reprobados, podemos encontrar críticas hacia los republicanos, el capitalismo y la misoginia. Todo con un sentido del humor increíble (me reí en voz alta MUCHAS veces).Now as an adult reader, I do find it kind of interesting and fun that with regard to Mia’s issues throughout The Princess Diaries with her best friend Lily Moscovitz and her staunchly traditional and Genovian nobility grandmother, while these two characters at first appear to be rather majorly different, well, with regard to their arrogance, obstinacy and their my way or the proverbial highway kind of Weltanschauung both Lilly and Grandmère are actually annoyingly similar but with the main issues being that at the end of The Princess Diaries Lili Moscovitz apologises to Mia and sees the errors of her ways whereas the Mia’s grandmother dies not and likely never will. I don't understand why the author decided to write 20 more chapters after the initial romance came to a conclusion. To me, this book consists of only 10 chapters. I don't want to read more of it and ruin the enjoyment I felt.

Her grandmother comes to New York as well and starts to give her princess lessons, including a full makeover for Mia. She is not the kind matronly grandmother that we got with Julie Andrews who was understanding, she was strict and unkind, completely judgmental and steam rolled over everyone. Honestly I could have seen Julie being a bit more Mary Poppins with the role with her being more pompous and such it could have worked, but they wanted to make her kinder. She is the tallest girl in her class, has feet like skis, mouse-brown/dishwater blonde hair that is triangular in shape and a chest line that is flatter than a surfboard. I actually liked the ending of the story, it had me smiling until I went to bed. Of course, this was a Meg Cabot book, so I really had fun reading it, even though this isn’t YA. Ransom My Heart is more mature, more family oriented, more risky and deadly.

And even though Finnula has a bad taste about marriage, which at first makes Hugo ill because the groom was his father, he will show Finnula that love and marriage is not such a bad thing, And since Hugo is so skilled in the bedroom, Finnula will be under siege because she is a bit of a lusty woman herself. She really enjoys Hugo’s kisses and making love to him. Hugo is willing to give Finnula is heart. He just hopes that she will want a lifetime with him as his wife.
