About this deal

The film's script, written by Rob Williams, is witty and intelligent, with dialogue that feels authentic and natural. The direction by the late Rob Williams is also top-notch, capturing the nuances of relationships and the suburban lifestyle. The role requires a bit of nudity. Does it daunt you to have to get your kit off on screen or do you quite enjoy it? Unexpectedly, this material was the genesis of Aquiles, who would become the protagonist of the second saga, which began with "Aquiles... a curious straight" followed by "Aquiles and his chained tiger" then "Aquiles, breaking chains," which was followed by "Aquiles, releasing moorings." Until the father and son decide for the sake of their relationship to both break it off. And then they all find it hard to bear. Each makes their case to Doug about who he should choose, and Doug finds himself turning to his brother, to ask him how he knew his wife was the right one. His brother replies:

This movie was a great film. We watch a lot of gay movies that are plotless or it seems as if the film makers ran out of money during production. A lot of the movies just kind of end leaving you guessing what happens next. This film was very interesting and it has a surprise ending. After completing my tertiary studies at the University of Buenos Aires and obtaining my degree as an architect, I wrote some notes for magazines. Later, while taking a postgraduate course, I wrote several research papers. It’s hard to look in a crystal ball, most of the things I am most proud of doing in 2012 weren’t on my to-do list. In hopes to keep making things I can be proud of at this time next year. Mais pour autant, il n’est pas besoin de se revendiquer comme une œuvre majeure du cinéma ni se vouloir un témoignage sociologique de la vie d’hommes gay pour offrir au spectateur un divertissement de qualité.Which is one of the reasons that I liked writer/director Rob Williams’ new film, The Men Next Door , as much as I did. The Men Next Door, unlike most queer films, dares to explore intergenerational dating. This is a novel idea in itself but Williams adds an additional spin. Eric Dean stars as Doug, a single gay man who has just turned 40. He is dating two men; one is ten years older and the other is ten years younger. This comedy of errors comes with a unique twist – his two lovers turn out to be father and son. There is also a lot of short scenes with his friends, who provide insight and comic relief. One event in particular with one of his gay friends has these lines: But this isn’t a soap opera and it never gets maudlin. Much comic relief is also supplied by the likable supporting cast - especially Doug’s straight, fraternal twin brother, Derek (Devon Michael Jones). Derek is a psychologist who finds his brother’s predicament hilarious. Their phone conversations, interspersed throughout, are amongst the film’s funniest scenes. I loved it when Derek asks Doug if he calls Jacob “daddy,” and then annoys him further by asking if Colton calls him“daddy.” When he learns about the cabin fiasco, Derek asks, “Can I use this as a case study for my patients?”

It reaches a head in the film’s funniest segment when Jacob brings Doug to his cabin for a quiet weekend. As the lovers chase each other to the bedroom, the outside door opens and Colton enters stage left. Depressed at being alone that weekend, he has decided to hang out at the cabin too. For awhile they keep just missing each other. And then the wild rumpus starts. This middle section is a masterpiece of comic timing; it’s funny even when you know what’s coming next. But then there’s some soul searching; words spoken express both happiness and sorrow. The actors make it very real and you feel for these guys. This newfound attraction leads Jerry to question his sexuality and his feelings for Drew. As he navigates his own romantic feelings, Jerry must also deal with his son's reaction to the new men in their lives, particularly when Oscar tells Collin and Jacob about Jerry's crush on Drew. Motivated by the readers' comments, I decided to compile the written material and chose to focus the story on a not very common theme within the erotic narrative. Thus was born "Flying South," which was the first novel, followed by "The men next door" and then by "Lifting the veils" completing a trilogy that I titled "STORIES OF A MARRIED MAN" in which the main character is a bisexual, married man. Quite interesting and good. Sort of a sexual farce. About a man, Doug, his 40th birthday, and how he starts to date two men — one 30, one 50. They both seem such good matches for him. Then he discovers why they both feel so familiar — They are father and son.
