Production wise, it is most likely that the first 12 episodes were originally made for this seasons' production between late 1986-1987, with the last 4 episodes being made much later on sometime in 1988, due to the fact that character models where given a slight update towards them (such as them being given new faces).

The 1993 re-release has a 5 second slide advertising videos 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 plus The Very Best of Fireman Sam. At the start of the tape, there is a promo slide advertising The Very Best of Fireman Sam, The New Adventures of Fireman Sam and The New Adventures of Fireman Sam: Disaster For Dinner videos.In Wales, this series has 16 episodes, with the series being aired in two-halves with 8 episodes each (i:e Series 1 is Series 1a, and Series 2 is Series 1b).
