Although, with its length, considers to be more a novella, this book is a monstrosity. I shouldn't be saying this about my book babies, but Purity is by far my favorite of all of them. I wrote this book from the depth of my soul. I had to dive into my religious trauma, bathe in it for a while, and then let my characters speak it out of me in a way that often took me by surprise.

Like it is somewhat okay, that he sleeps around - because there was no hope to be with h (h told him so herself) and he wants to forget- BUT why did he do it so open? why did he bring countless OWs around his big love h? Make out with them in front of her? Later in the book he says to h about all the OWs around her "but you never acted jealous" .. The whole idea of this young woman realising how disgusting and toxic purity culture is and finding herself is an incredible idea for a book and its friends to lovers - you would think I would eat this up - What I do know is that, as someone who isn’t particularly religious, this book must be the devil incarnate bc it almost sent me to church. I’m not sure even holy water could cleanse the images eternally burned into my dungeon of a mind. But when I tell Cole my request, his reaction is not what I expect. He’s furious and over-the-top protective. He won’t touch me, but apparently no one else can either. It doesn’t make any sense.Skyler is a romance novel reader first and foremost. Her books feature strong heroines who sometimes make their heroes cry, but only because they deserve it. After all, if romance isn’t angsty, is it even worth it?

I really don't like the i-have-loved-you-for-years-but-i-f-everybody-else. h is pure ofc, but dreams about H and marriage to him, but at the same time 4 out of 5 years she thought she could only have Christian husband. From puritanical virgin to primal sex kitten, Livvy’s story has allowed me expand the repertoire of smut I’ve consumed into a realm I could have lived without knowing existed. As always, her characters are real. Their problems are real. They live like normal people. So it’s so easy to fall in love with her writing. But when I tell Cole my request, his reaction is not what I expect. He's furious and over-the-top protective. He won't touch me, but apparently no one else can either? It doesn't make any sense.My only real complaint is the story pacing feels a little off and the ending is definitely rushed. The giveaway epilogue really needs to be part of the storyline to pull it all together.

Until we share a kiss that makes the world stand still, and I begin to wonder...maybe I've misread him all along. Now.. if H would NOT had romantic or lust feelings for h for years, or would have been celibate or SUPER discrete about it.. i would have liked him .. maybe. Why does he has to be so open and in everybody face about his manho ways?Cole is DEFINITELY Mason’s more risqué character, and I LOVE that she wasn’t afraid to showcase sexual desires in this book. (I WISH you could see my highlights, but alas, I will not be sharing them with you 😉) Cole is stubborn and delusional when it comes to his own feelings. He’s had a rough example of what “love” looks like. Which was incredibly relatable for me. If you can look past how double standards major man-ho H is and how it is brought up SO SO many times .. then it is okay book. h says to H when they are young, that she would date ONLY christian. And ofc H is ruled out. So they both pine for each other. Over the last year h has second thoughts... and decides she can date a NON christian.
