Many Walkers fans were recently left fuming after hearing the news that the nation's favourite crisp firm were culling their Worcestershire sauce flavour - and they join a long list of other flavours which have come and gone in recent years. She asked: "Have you stopped making Beef and Onion Crisps?" A Walkers spokesperson responded: "Hi Katie, sorry to say Beef & Onion was discontinued last year."

David said: Love smoky bacon but what has happened to Worcestershire sauce and especially tomato ketchup flavours! Cannot tell you how much I miss my two favourite flavours." And Fatboy4pie added: "That's a real shame, I enjoyed them in a sandwich!"

It appears it has taken a while for the news to hit some fans as confirmation production of the flavour had ended was given on X earlier this year when Erika Robinson asked the firm: "Random question...can you still get Worcestershire sauce flavoured crisps anywhere?" She was then told: "Hi Erika, we recently stopped making Worcester Sauce flavour crisps, but thanks for asking." I wanted something unique," he said. "The gentle Cajun flavouring will be delicious, and although the idea might sound bizarre, it really works. I've seen squirrel on restaurant menus and on cookery shows but had never tried it myself." Launched during the football World Cup of 2010, the American Cheeseburger flavour was a hit and competed in Walkers' very own tournament to see which of French garlic baguette, Italian spaghetti bolognaise and eventual winner English roast beef and yorkshire pudding, would come out on top.

The brand was founded by butcher Henry Walker in 1948 as rationing continued, and in the 1990s the brand became the leading crisp supplier in the UK. Walkers' first crisps were flavoured only with salt and sold for threepence, but then ventured into cheese and onion in 1954 thanks to manufacturing and scientific advancements. A limited edition run which was launched during the Do Us A Flavour campaign, the idea was thought up by a 26-year-old marketing executive Martyn Wright, from Hednesford, near Tamworth. Walkers crisps are famous throughout the world - and one of the first products expats miss when they're abroad. Alongside familar favourites such as ready salted and cheese and onion, there have been some bizarre combinations which you cannot longer buy, but live long in the memory of fans. There's no frustration known to man like the anger experienced when a big-name brand decides to discontinue a product- whether it be the hazelnut filled Topic and Crispy Roll chocolate bars, or the zingy Diet Coke with lemon.The Museum of Crisps recently revealed to Leicestershire Live all of the old flavours that you can no longer get your hands on. Responding to the news, one person said: “I’m sure I speak for many when I say Beef and Onion was my favourite flavour.” Another said: "What has happened to Worcestershire sauce?
