About this deal

As the years passed and their bond grew, one of them had overcome the suicidal urges, the other........didn't. fast forward four years later and kellan’s death has brought together two broken souls - charlotte and tate. both are ridden with guilt and self loathing, over the death of their loved ones.

i followed her. i’d started feeling like a creep about an hour ago after i’d showed up in front of her workplace, challenging my inner joe goldberg. but now the feeling bled into full-blown pervert territory, thrusting me deep into the jeffrey dahmer zone.” this quote took me out😂but kellan is still quietly suffering as charlotte grows further away from her suicidal thoughts. worried about kellan she reaches out to him in school only to get rejected, so she writes a letter to the principal stating her worries, but once kellan finds out he's angry and calls the cops on her when she tries to visit his house. Huntington's writing is superior; so dramatic, full of chaotic full stops and one-liners that'd belong to a dialogue museum if there ever was one. Does not help matters that Tate didn't hold a candle on Kellan (in my humble opinion). Something about him being a Gyno eeked me out, maybe it was that forsaken scene I mentioned earlier which is now the main reason for my chronic hair loss. Also, some things in this book were very unrealistic. Like, you know, the fact that Terry (The father) plagiarised Kellan’s work. Kellan wrote a whole masterpiece when he was a teenager. HOW? Is that possible? Kellan wrote a whole damn philosophical masterpiece at such a young age. Look at me. At that time, the only writing I did was my homework. But I guess we all can’t be as smart as Kellan, can we? Sometimes, I lay in bed, listening to my own heartbeats thudding against the mattress and willing my heart to stop.

Why did he idolize his dad for being a writer given the reveal that happened at the end? He knew his dad was a piece of shit but still blamed Tate for everything Again, I expected this aspect of the story to match the same tune of the rest, but it didn't, and I'll never not be bitter about it. asked her personal questions that were clearly none of his business right after claiming that he had no romantic or platonic interest in her, Kept up the whole “I’m so jaded, we can’t be together” miserable thought. (No wonder he and Kellan were brothers)

Why would Charlotte's boss insist that she visit a gynecologist? 🌚 Reproductive health is important and all, but even if she never made it to an ob-gyn before, it was kinda... her personal issue?

Like I mentioned before, I found the romance weak and uninteresting (I'll elaborate in a little, I promise), but I liked the first part -the one where Charlotte meets Kellan-, and I was equally invested both in Tate and his father's disastrous relationship and in the one between Charlotte and her sister. so, naturally, he wrote the least sad suicide letter in the history of suicide letters, in which he begged challenged a depressed, broke, barely 18-year-old schoolgirl ( Charlotte if you must know) to edit and get his book (about their love story with a sweet HEA) published. Take the notorious ob-gyn scene: Charlotte embarrassed herself quite like no one else, but behind Tate's 'professional' (my ass), cold and indifferent façade you could clearly see that the guy's self-control was hanging by a thread. Nevertheless, Darling Venom explored some very complicated relationships between siblings and parents. Charlie had the longest, most frustrating and painful journey with her sister. Tiny moments felt so revolutionary once they finally took their first steps towards reconciliation. Leah let Charlie pin her hair😭😭🥺. This is my second time reading something by this author and I was pleasantly surprised to find out this is her signature writing style and not a fortuitous event.why did he keep giving hope to Charlotte if he had known beforehand that his decision wasn't going to change? Tate’s brand of asshole was my type of Hero and I liked his character, because he had more ✨ personality ✨ than Charlie, which isn't hard. she was vulnerable in her feelings, an open book for kellan to study and thrive from. she was a quiet bookworm, not quite popular not quite a loser just coasting through life after the tragic accident that took away her parents and her sister maybe not physically but definitely emotionally. her thoughts are so relatable, the way she looked out for kellan was admirable, yes she snitched on him to the school principal who ultimately didn't even do anything the pathetic bitch, but she could've stayed silent like so many people do, but she chose to stand up for kellan and put him first. their relationship was so pure, untouched by the darkness because they escaped all of that in each other.
