About this deal

My Grandmother Adele, introduced me to all the above candies. She would give one candy while showing me how to create food, fragrance etc. Metaphors aside, the parallelepiped shape, the golden writing, the creamy heart, the solid shell, the crunchy milk casing, and the mixed flavor of hazelnuts and almonds are the strengths of Rossana. Not surprisingly, this candy has been appreciated for 4 generations! These are also predominantly made directly in Italy and not imported. In a typical Tabaccaio or even supermarket, you will find many more foreign brands and candies available that are quite popular.

It all began in a shop that was opened in the middle of Cremona in the early 19th century, owner of the oldest trading license in the entire province. A shop which still offers its faithful clientele a wide range of traditional Cremona delicacies. Milk is good for children, right? So of course a candy that uses predominantly or is based on milk will be good for children, too. Kinder is of course a wonderful example of how convincing parents milk in candy makes it more nutritional. Add the rest of the sugar, beat untill fluffy, then add powdered milk and beat untill incorporated. I had this recipe wandering around my “Image” fold, it’s a very easy recipe but I’ve never found the time, or the willing, to do it even if I needed this to get rid of some powdered milk I had because I made these milk buns.

Ginevrine, Golia, “palline” and the square, hard rhubarb and/or barley ones are the candies I have the most memories of, those that are a real madelinette for me. MILK CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT: A tempting combination made with a whole crunchy hazelnut dipped in delicious creamy chocolate hazelnut filling and covered with milk chocolate, crispy wafers and gently roasted hazelnut pieces What a fantastic blog! There are so many amazing sweets in Italy, but I think my favorite is Ferrara’s Torrone. Italians have THE MOST DISGUSTING “SWEETS” EVER! The galatines are just horrible! And the 1000 different mints – those are not even candy! They’re something you consume when you have the flu and a throath ache! Galatine Candy is a milk tablet marketed as a health candy. The company claims that its sweets are better than the other brand, especially for kids. After many years, their charm is still the same, so much so that they are among the best-selling candies on the Italian market and abroad. So, Let’s Dive In! AboutGalatine CandyIngredients & Flavors At the end I got rid of my laziness and I did these candies, they are very very close to the store bought ones; I just made a mistake: I should have engraved squares with a knife before the candy dough became hard, I would have ended with well defined squares. I agree with you about the little metal Leone tins – they are just so gorgeously designed. I’m not sure how I managed to come home from Italy without a single one. Although I like the Leone caramelle (particularly the caffe’, as if I didn’t consume enough coffee anyway!), flavour-wise my vote would have to be for quelle al miele (it rhymes!) – absolutely the thing for a sore throat. I couldn’t start off talking about Italians and their candy without talking about liquorice, anice and herbal candies. I’ve seen that the flavor preferences of any country are reflected in their gum, and also in their toothpaste flavors. The first time I saw an herbal toothpaste flavor here, I did a double take. And yes, it tastes herbal. The current assortment includes four variants: the classic milk Galatine, milk and chocolate, milk with strawberry and the brand new milk and biscuit. They are available in the practical 125 g bag, with a label already prepared for foreign markets. In addition to the Italian language, in fact, there are indications in English, German and Chinese. . These are irresistible candies from Italy that absolutely cannot be missed on the shelves of your supermarket abroad.

Although gelatine/gelatin is commonly obtained from pigs (pork gelatine), which is non-halal, it can also be obtained from other animals, such as cows (bovine gelatine) and fish (fish gelatine). Gelatine/gelatin is considered halal if obtained from halal sources, e.g. animals that are slaughtered according to Islamic law or... yes! fish. Have you ever had a gummy bear on the shelf, staring at you, waiting to be adopted through the cashier counter? Ambrosolli is one of the most famous candy brands in Italy. It has a long history that is strongly connected to honey. The founder of the company was Giovanni Battista Ambrosoli, who founded his confectionery in 1930. His main motivation was to make honey the main ingredient in candies and make it available to everyone. His passion was beekeeping, and he turned it into an opportunity to create something unique.

Check, Ask and Decide

I remember Rossana from when I used to visit relatives as a child. They (along with Baci) where staples in and Italo-Canadian home.

Possibly the most popular liquorice candy is Golia (pictured far right) – tiny little white wrappers with a chewy/gummy liquorice button inside. Other than these “ classiche,” Golia has branched out into many non-liquorice varieties, including mint, fruit and balsamic varieties. Milk powder (40%) (skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder), sugar, glucose syrup, low-fat yoghurt powder (2%), natural flavouring, honey preparation (0.2%). Your blog has left my mouth watering! The Leone candies are particularly fascinating. I’ve never tasted anything containing absinthe, and would love to try them. Everybody at Sperlari is important.
