About this deal

But he leaves out all of the humor that is usually present in his work. You also couldn't tell this story without making it excessively violent. But compared to some of his other Titles, the level of violence is restrained. And the prose that he uses shows how much he's grown as an Author over the last couple of years.

Aron has done it again! My fiance Spike and I were gifted this copy of Morbid Curiosities at Authorcon II, so I decided it needed to be moved to the top of the TBR pile! (Not yet released, but coming soon I believe...) World-renowned chef, Kason Anders, has a secret compulsion. Divulging in his obsession has brought him to the darkest corners of the globe. But redundancy can make even the most extraordinary experiences grow old. However, if the rumors prompting his return to Singapore are true, Kason's taste buds will never be bored again. A mysterious internet figure, known only as Mr. Boy, is preying on depressed teenagers and brainwashing them into horrific acts of self-harm and suicide. The macabre message behind "The Dropout Challenge" is simple: Drop out of sight. Drop out of school. Drop out of society. Drop out of life altogether.

The horror is in the unfiltered realism. It tightens your chest and slays your mind. It will chill you to the bone. This gave me the vibes of a sinister version of the podcast ‘The Antique Shop’ which I adore. That vibe kept going with the other 2 books in the series. This was a perfect start; it really grabbed my attention and made me need to know what was happening. Mia is almost like a sidelined MC. This story has pretty much nothing to do with her until the end – the first 4/5ths of the story follow completely different characters and then she comes in, to be followed into the next 2 installments. It’s kind of meta (is that what the kids are saying these days?). What do I mean by that? Well, it’s almost like holding a crystal ball and watching something play out that doesn’t actually involve you but does directly impact you. This volume contains 15 interior illustrations and the exclusive essay "Times Change" regarding the writing process and concepts behind Modern Hysteria. Are we really heading in the right direction or are we producing the kind of humans that will be the downfall of humanity? I guess only time will tell. Aron Beauregard brings you another tale of depravity and gore that pushes the boundaries – as we’ve come to expect.

With Playground, Aron Beauregard transcends himself, delivering a genuinely chilling, uncomfortable novel that will make even the most jaded horror fan squirm. A harrowing, relentless read that left me breathless." (Brian Keene) Authors, if you are a member of the Goodreads Author Program, you can edit information about your own books. She has no idea of what the man she is with has hiding in his closet.... Get ready for one of Aron Beauregard's most squirm-worthy and heartbreaking tales. Includes five other stories of the macabre and an expanded personal essay, The Best and Worst Days of My Life, exploring the inspiration behind Wet Market and his viral success.Aron just keeps improving with every book he releases, and this is no exception! You always know when you're reading a book by Aron, it just has that Aron feel to it! In the same way you know when you're reading a Stephen King! It's like coming home, a comfort!

This one will stay with me for a very long time! When a band of dysfunctional children is suddenly thrust into a diabolical realm of violence, they must grow up instantly to have a chance at survival. Will they find a way to put their differences aside, or be swallowed up by the insidious architecture all around them? There is a fantastic twist in this story, and when the tables are turned, it makes for a gnarly, yet very satisfying conclusion! Before handing the frame over to Francisco, she makes him swear that he will include a photo of the two of them. He agrees, but the frame has other plans for him. The photo of Sophia and him is replaced with another of the strange blonde woman in a different setting. Francisco has something to hide and is terrified that the woman in the photo is trying to communicate that she knows. It brings to life the true horrors out there in life, of a world reliant on social networking and the need for acceptance! And also, the horrifying reality of what people will do if they aren't accepted! The ease of young people being brainwashed by an unknown person on the other end of a computer! Terrifying, and utterly chilling! Before wrapping up I do need to touch base on Lila Kerry. Her narration is impeccable. She blasted onto my radar with the double whammy narration of The Slob and Son Of Slob and let me tell you, she doesn’t disappoint! You could hear all of the prep she put into this role. I was impressed throughout with her portrayal of the young boys, a make or break thing that she passed with flying colors. I believe I read that she trained on that especially. Aron Beauregard presents a story about one of the great dangers our youth face on the internet, the destruction it leaves behind, and the evil behind it. And he does it without pulling punches. He does not spare your feelings. This is the story of an internet challenge that preys on the sad and uncertain, perpetrated by the worst of humanity. It’s also about what draws young people to such things. It’s about those people, those kids, their families, their struggles. It’s about the descent into madness from pain and grief. And it’s graphic. And it’s bloody. And the most surprising thing I learned was that there are actually no laws that protect people to this kind of online abuse. Even if they find the person responsible for one of these ‘challenges’ where people lose their life, they can’t be held directly responsible because…
