I am a tad tired and still have a few other things to write so I am going to make a list review with all I loved. Normally this list would also contain a not so good part, but I just don’t have any complaints. XD Despite it being slightly longer than other books we have read previously, this one kept both of us interested and excited to read with a fab bunch of characters and a thrilling story line. The plot and characters are well-drawn and developed, and the dream concept is inspired. Their is humour and pathos, brave adventuring and sneaky intriguing. This madcap adventure could have only been dreamt up by the crazy minds of Greg James and Chris Smith - part science-fiction, part mission impossible, part mystery that needs solving and a whole lot of fun' Read more Details Professor Dexter’s motto has always been "What if?", and has led him to the verge of a huge breakthrough in dream research at Somnia Inc. But six weeks ago, there was a terrible accident that left him trapped in a nightmare that he can’t wake up from.

I love that the machine was called CHEESE. OK, it also brought forth some hunger pangs because I love love cheese. The Great Dream Robbery’ is a book written by BBC Radio 1 hosts and children’s authors, Greg James and Chris Smith. It tells the story of 12 year old Maya who, unlike most other children her age, actually wants to go to bed early. Why? Because falling asleep is her only chance to save her dad, Professor Dexter, from the deceitful villain Lilith Delamere, who has trapped the Professor inside of a nightmare. Maya joins forces with the Dream Bandits to rescue him before time runs out. I listen to all of the Kid Normal books and stumbled across The Great Dream Robbery and sampled it. As soon as I heard the first sentence I new it was for me. I love Greg James and Chris Smith’s voices and how they interact with each other like there reading it next to me. This is a fabulous story with a broad appeal (not least to Geography teachers who could use the “wave-cut platform” rap in class to great effect!). The plot is fast-paced, has comic-style fonts which will encourage reading aloud, as well as a clever narrative style which enables the authors to befriend and talk directly to their reader. In addition, there are many laugh-out-loud moments which combined with the subtle undertones of how to face your fears, will leave children wanting to read more. It’s a triumph! Together they become The Dream Bandits and put together an ingenious and totally bonkers plan to save their parents.Unlike most 12 year-olds, Maya Clayton is desperate to go to bed early.
