Esta es la primera novela gráfica (que es como llaman ahora a los cómics de toda la vida) basada en una historia de Brandon Sanderson. Entré a Arena blanca con bajas expectativas, había leído reseñas de amigos (fans de Sanderson y del Cosmere) que habían acabado un poco decepcionados. Creo que los mundos de Sanderson son difíciles de adaptar al formato cómic por su complejidad y profundidad. Volume Two was split between several artists; chapters one through five were drawn by Julius Gopez and chapter six was drawn by Julius Ohta, chapters one and two were colored by Morgan Hickman and chapters three through six were colored by Salvatore Aiala Studios, lettering for the whole volume was done by DC Hopkins.

Keeping the initial print run shorter, will help go to press more quickly, but that means the number of first editions will also be more limited. Hace ya unos cuantos que leí el primer tomo que nos llegó traducido al castellano de "Arena blanca". La historia no está mal, es interesante y encierra alguna que otra sorpresa, pero en algunos puntos se me hizo algo pesada y carente de ritmo.Las cosas más interesantes que podrían haberse desarrollado no lo hacen (como las intrigas políticas, todo lo relacionado con el «Lado oscuro», el qué pasará cuando…) para al final resultar una introducción sumamente larga, repetitiva y muy poco interesante que va perdiendo gancho a cada volumen. Siendo de quién es, este comic me ha resultado un poco decepcionante, no se si es por el formato o por la historia, pero aunque creo que los personajes son geniales y la historia no está mal, yo necesito más desarrollo, saber más del mundo, del dios y sus distintas religiones, de la magia y, sobre todo de los personajes, se me ha quedado corto y aún así, se me ha hecho un poco pesado de leer, está claro que este formato no es para mi y la trama me ha parecido algo floja y se me han hecho interminables todas las peleas que hay. Visitamos así por primera vez Taldain, un planeta dividido en un Lado oscuro y un Lado Diurno donde tenemos varias culturas, personajes y por supuesto, un sistema de magia increíble, esta vez basado en la arena. La maestría de la arena es uno de los sistemas de magia que más me gustan de los creados por Sanderson, lo encuentro de lo más original.

Due to the changes from the printer, we are not releasing the books through other channels this year and will be focusing on just the IndieGoGo backers first, with releases to standard retail outfits happening sometime next year. Esta es la primera reseña que escribo en Goodreads (normalmente solo doy nota y ya) así que a ver qué tal. Uno de los primeros libros escritos por Brandon Sanderson, aunque reside en un cajón bajo llave, fue Arena Blanca. arena blanca nos encontramos un mundo muy original, con sus luces y sombras (literalmente hablando), sus bandos políticos y como no, su sistema de magia.Pero con buena edición esto en prosa hubiera seguido siendo una magnífica obra porque, aunque al principio nos parezca un Brandon en más baja forma que en sus obras más conocidas, sigue derrochando imaginación y manejando la trama (y a nosotros con esta) como nos tiene acostumbrados. Originalmente se editó en tres partes separadas, pero yo he leído una versión integra (omnibus) que han lanzado recientemente.
