About this deal

The first was Wiggledance! when Captain crashes into the wall in front of the audience and behind the stage. The American DVD was pressed on August 15, 2012, a little less than a month before it released in Australia and four months before its American release. I ran into this blog while trying to find some information about an old Camp Fire Girls song I used to sing at Camp Tenaya (SoCal) when I was a girl. Has anyone ever heard anything like this?

The final video to have Anthony be the main drummer for the group. Beginning with the next video, he became the lead guitarist for the band. i am learning this song in music just now. My teacher asked us to find out where the song came from. thanks for your comments, they have been very helpful I think there were other verses as the Eskimo got closer to the bear, but I can’t remember them. Anyway, your song took me on a trip down memory lane! Fun times with Girl Scouts!OMG! So many people looking for this song! I heard it for the first time when our 2 1/2 yr old daughter performed it with her class mates yesterday. I asked the teachers the meaning of the lyrics but they did not know. They only said it is an eskimo fish hunting song. So i thought i would research it on the web but have not found the real lyrics or the meaning of the song. I hope someone finds the meaning so i can explain to our li’l girl. It might just turn out to be a collection of fun sounds with no meaning. Would love to get some inputs.

When the line-up was expanded in the late 2010s from four Wiggles to eight, some people were not impressed at just how cluttered it made everything.I also have a memory of a song I sang as a Girl Scout. I recall that it was the story of an Eskimo hunter/fisherman looking for his catch. I remember the two verses you share as well others that take him through the hunt. I also recall a ‘refrain’ that goes: “eee-ss a noma mis a wa wa. eee-s a noma mis a wa wa.” Does that sound familiar? There were motions to go with each verse, too… I would LOVE to find the origins and right words for the song, as well! Thank you for asking your question so that I could happen upon the possible answer! I just came across this song on the Wiggles debut CD from 1991! My son absolutely loves it, but he calls it the “walkie-talkie” song. He IS only three though. Personally, I had never heard it before. I assumed it was soemthing aboriginal, since many of their songs are from the native Austrialians or New Zealanders. Thanks for all of the information! It says a lot that the band had a series of successful reunion shows featuring the original lineup which consisted solely of shows where everyone in the audience was an adult. Motivated to utilise early educational concepts to create high-quality children's music, the classmates created a music project for their classes and produced their first album in 1991, dedicated to Field's deceased niece. Like a university assignment, they produced a folder of essays that explained the educational value of each song on the album. They needed a keyboardist, so Field asked his old band mate, Fatt, for his assistance in what they thought would be a temporary project. The group received songwriting help from John Field, Anthony's brother and former band mate, and from Phillip Wilcher, who was working with the early childhood music program at Macquarie. After contributing to their first album, hosting the group's first recording sessions in his Sydney home, and appearing in a couple of the group's first videos, Wilcher chose to leave the group to pursue a career in classical music.

Video Hits (1991) • Video Hits Volume 2 (1992) • Live In Concert (1993) • Featuring Banana Holiday and Lots of Other Great Songs (1994) Unga (or oonga) means “to smile”. I believe it is Siberian Yu’pik though being from Nome I was around many different Iñupiaq dialects and Siberian Yu’pik as well as Yu’pik. The translations I’ve seen on here for Umiaq, kayak, mukluk and tupik are pretty close. In this verse, we put our right palm over our eyes as if we were watching something. Respectively, when the seal hunt is in place, we simulate shooting with a bow./ Hands to brow, turning to one side, then changing hand and turning to the other side, as if looking to horizon)Greg explains that the next song is an Eskimo fishing song called "Okki Tokki Unga". He then goes on to explain the actions: look for fish, throw the net out, make a funny face as you drag in the net and then wave good-bye to fishing friends. Regarding Creek Lullaby. this song was recorded in 1943 By Professor Willard Rhodes. Willard Rhodes was a Professor of music at Columbia University and employed by The Bureau of Indian Affairs to compile a recorded catalouge of Native American Songs. Professor Rhodes recorded a young girl named Margaret singing Creek Lullaby. Margaret attened the Haskell Institue in Lawrence, kansas. According to the Professors notes Margaret’s voice “shimmered in the room” The translation, roughly, is Use the slower section for hauling the heavy ice into position. You are building the igloo in three stages to match three repeats of the song. During a goof-up on stage, Greg and Anthony quip, "Anything could happen tonight!" It could, and it did.

The fact they play their own instruments (for the most part) elevates them from the normal "Triple threats who couldn't get any decent acting work" to "Musicians who specifically cater to children." In the, US, this marked the return of Greg since his last appearance in Racing to the Rainbow in 2006. Repeat second verse with pointing toward shore motion, then, as if greeting those on shore, and at the end, –oomph, as continue pulling Please Help ! My niece is getting married in a few weeks and her sister wants to give a marriage toast to incorporate the some of the words from an old song or story she remembered from kindergarten. The band finally did a crossover with Sesame Street in November 2019. Considering this is something many fans had most likely wanted to see for over twenty years, this is most definitely awesome. Have this blast from the past running thru my head in the middle of the night and it would be interesting to know where this song came from and what it might mean. Greg suffering from cardiac arrest before the encore of a Wiggles reunion charity gig in 2020. Turns to Tears of Joy when you find out he survived. The band seems to avoid being grating to everyone but kids by having enough talent and good songs that parents and siblings don't mind being dragged along their concerts... that and they're damn catchy.
