The Gran has been around for longer, the only real difference is that the Viva just has one dial for espresso and steam, similar to the Sage Duo Temp Pro, while the Gran has the two separate buttons plus the steam dial, as with the Carezza. The first cup of coffee is fine but when I try to do a second, the portafilter undoes itself and unless I hold it in place, it leaks coffee and then falls off. I'm referring to this as the “Gaggia Carezza Deluxe” because that's the official title, but really it's just the Gaggia Carezza, it's the only option – so it's not that there's a standard “style” version and a “deluxe” version available as is often the case with Gaggia machines.
