About this deal

Hardcore MMO and MOBA gamers may despair at the lack of dedicated macro keys on the G513, but setting up macros in the Logitech software is an easy process, even if you’re forced to find some unused (for gaming) keys to set them up. Since the LED is centered you get lighting across the entire key, including both primary and secondary functions.

While plenty of mechanical keyboards use the venerable Cherry MX switches, Logitech has for some time now opted to develop its own mechanical switches named Romer-G.We have affordable options if you're looking for an entry-level keyboard, as well as mechanical keyboards with some of the fastest switches and sleekest backlighting. Even with its raised keys and exposed backplate, the G413 is one of the most restrained designs in a Logitech portfolio that (at this point) is full of them.

Thanks to the boxy nature of the underlying mechanism, each key press actuates evenly and comes to a nearly silent stop. It's up to your personal preferences when finding the Logitech G Gaming gear that fits your setup, so check out some of our keyboards to find your match. It’s as bright and vibrant as the illumination that the company has integrated into its higher-end peripherals, and the new LightSync tech will help synchronize lighting effects across your entire gaming setup. They’re not entirely similar, with Romer-G Linears having a shallower actuation (Reds are at 2 millimeters) and a shorter travel, but it’s close enough for most people. It’s also worth mentioning that Romer-G Linear accomplishes this without changing the fundamental design of the switch. It’s still an incredibly compact keyboard made of a rigid plastic frame with a sheet of aircraft-grade 5052 aluminum to serve as its top plate. The detachable, memory-foam palmrest and premium aluminum-alloy construction make G513 full-featured and best-in-class. It’s attractive, it’s functional, it hits all the same notes that Logitech’s been hitting for the past few years—ever since the G610/G810 at least. I used an updated version of the client to review the G513, and while there’s little in the way of changes from recent iterations of the software, it’s fairly easy to use.

This one eschews the clunky tactile bump of the original in favor of a more straightforward linear keypress. The brushed aluminum deck has a pleasant, textured finish that adds a sophisticated look to the overall package.Like most gaming and streaming gear, the cost of gaming keyboards can vary depending on the model you choose. Most notably, the G513 takes advantage of Logitech’s LIGHTSYNC functionality, which is similar to Razer’s Chroma or Alienware’s AlienFX.
