About this deal

Let’s take a look at their surroundings. Should we be looking out for something happening on a plane? And is it just me or does that balcony look like the bow of a ship? Ok, maybe I’m over-analysing here. Surely the weather — dark, cloudy, miserable — is a sure sign of the overall mood of the season to come. With the whole story wrapping up in just 10 episodes time, I’m sensing a storm brewing. The connection between Warhol and Logan only solidifies further when we examine the unique process by which Warhol created Self-Portrait in 1986. To complicate things further, there’s another poster for Succession season four: Suited, booted and ready for any boardroom, judging by the looks on their faces, there’s certainly no love lost between any of the characters.

Additional returning cast members include David Rasche, Fisher Stevens, Hiam Abbass, Justine Lupe, Dagmara Domińczyk, Arian Moayed, Scott Nicholson, Zoë Winters, Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Juliana Canfield, and Jeannie Berlin. Alexander Skarsgård, Cherry Jones, Hope Davis, Justin Kirk, and Stephen Root will also reprise their roles for season four. This comes into fruition when Kendall is named successor, Ronan is his named second and three heads of Waystar Royco is classed as too many, so Shiv is pushed out. It’s reinforced throughout season four that Shiv isn’t taken seriously and treated differently to her brothers. When she arrives at Lukas’ Norwegian forest compound, he introduces his only female staff member as “oestrogen air freshener” before asking: “If I hug you will I get a lawsuit?” It’s not the first time the family divide has been alluded to in the promotional material for a new season, as the final poster for the third season had Connor, Shiv, Roman and Kendall stood on one side of the hall, with Logan, Tom and Greg on the other. Roman was always going to side with his dadFollowing the fallout of Kendall’s betrayal and Logan’s gung-ho quest for revenge in Succession season 2, last year’s episodes placed the spotlight on each Roy sibling equally, giving actors Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook and Kieran Culkin room to flex their (at times cringe-inducing) muscles.Season 4 seems primed to continue in that vein, after Logan’s dramatic decision to consider Matsson’s offer left the trio of siblings more united (against their father, that is) than ever. Update: Since Succession season 4 has only recently begun streaming, we've opted to keep the below information written in the style of predictions. According to art dealer Tony Shifrazi, Warhol began his work by taking a photograph. He then would have a photographic laboratory enlarge the selected picture and transfer it to an acetate sheet. The mark of Warhol’s own hand came in when he outlined his face and features on the canvas. Finally, he would complete the painting by squeegeeing ink onto the marked canvas, aided by an assistant. Following the above pattern, Succession's season 4 finale should air on Sunday, May 28 (or Monday, May 29 if you're in the UK). Succession season 4 cast

If these pictures follow the same story that each side represents warring sides of the Roy family, then Kendall might find himself swapping teams. For Kendall, Logan’s death is a business issue to swiftly resolve, while Roman grieves and tries to defend his dad’s honour and legacy. Tom’s wedding ring I think we've, you know, got to the point where the show has reached its natural closure," he told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet. He praised series creator Jesse Armstrong for deciding to end it now. "Jesse won't let anything go on further than it needs to," he explained. "A lot of shows outstay their welcome, and I think our show is perfect, and neat, in the way it is." The Roy kids have a feeling their dad is screwing his personal assistant, Kerry (Zoe Winters), who’s some 50 years his junior. Logan’s got a UTI, and Roman tosses off a joke about Kerry delivering another Roy spawn. In the finale, Connor figures out that Logan’s trying to fortify his, uh, “gloop” (his word, not ours). Logan may very well be trying for a new heir whom he won’t live to see grow up and let him down. (You can tell he’s gearing up for a daddy do-over by the way the episode opens with him reading to his grandson.) Peter Paul Rubens’s Bloody Tiger Hunt Peter Paul Rubens, “The Tiger Hunt” (1615-17) (via Wikimedia Commons)Armstrong confessed that he tried to put off the decision to end the series for good as long as he could. It was still up in the air when the season four writers met and discussed the different paths the show could take from here. They could do two more short seasons, or turn the series into "a more rangy, freewheeling kind of fun show" that would go on for a long time but be more uneven. "Or we could do something a bit more muscular and complete, and go out sort of strong. And that was definitely always my preference," Armstrong shared, adding that the decision to end ultimately came as they wrote and filmed season four. Armstrong first revealed that the series would be ending with its fourth season in a Feb. 23 interview with The New Yorker. "You know, there's a promise in the title of 'Succession.' I've never thought this could go on forever," he said. "The end has always been kind of present in my mind. From season two, I've been trying to think: Is it the next one, or the one after that, or is it the one after that?" But the crux of Succession season 4 will, of course, revolve around Matsson's proposed acquisition of the Roy family business. Indeed, HBO's official synopsis for the season reads as follows: “In the ten-episode season 4, the sale of media conglomerate Waystar Royco to tech visionary Lukas Matsson moves ever closer. The prospect of this seismic sale provokes existential angst and familial division among the Roys as they anticipate what their lives will look like once the deal is completed. A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.”

Season four also features Harriet Walter, James Cromwell, Natalie Gold, Caitlin Fitzgerald, Ashley Zukerman, Larry Pine, Mark-Linn Baker, and Pip Torrens. Succession newcomers include Annabeth Gish, Adam Godley, Eili Harboe, and Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson. Cousin Greg occupied a similar position, leading many fans to tip him to come out on top. However, Greg was too gauche, too clumsy in his scheming, not machiavellian enough (yet). He was always destined to be Sporus the castrated slave boy to Tom’s Emperor Nero. 3. The word “Succession” Even HBO executive Casey Bloys remained in the dark on Succession's future. "For those conversations, we really tend to leave it with the showrunners," he told Deadline in July last year. "Jesse is obviously figuring out what he wants the fourth season to be and he will decide whether he sees it going beyond that or not. We’ll really leave it to him and let him have his process and figure out what he wants to do." In any case, given that HBO executive Francesca Orsi declared, in her official renewal announcement, that “Jesse Armstrong [continues] to surpass our wildest expectations” with each new season of Succession, we’re expecting to be surprised by the inevitable twists and turns that Succession season 4 has in store. Succession season 4 trailersbecause you don’t want to risk being betrayed.” Logan throws this barb at Shiv in front of Tom’s face in season one, just a few episodes before their wedding. The vibes here are more Oedipus Rex than 1,000 gross incest jokes from Roman (Kieran Culkin): The action Shiv takes to avoid her fate/fear is the very thing that will make it come to fruition. It was one of the most spine-tingling moments of the entire show. In the season three finale, the siblings’ attempted coup failed because turncoat Tom had tipped off Logan. This was confirmed by Logan fondly touching Tom’s shoulder, a gesture spotted from across the room by the incandescent Shiv. Indeed, Armstrong had been teasing the possibility of the show's ending for several months prior to the aformentioned admission. “There's going to be a very definite moment when that story is over, and it can't go on too long,“ he told The New Statesman in September 2021.
