About this deal

Always clean off the metal detector with warm water and a soft cloth after being at the beach. It helps prevent a salt buildup on any parts. The Vanquish 540 comes with a pinpoint mode to make zeroing in on a target easier and faster. It comes with 5 Search Modes: Coin, Relic, Jewelry, Custom, and All Metal. Noise cancelling can be done on 19 channels so if you are searching in highly mineralized areas, you can cut down the chatter most very low frequency (VLF) detectors emit. Iron bias adjustability ranges from Low to High, to better customize user preference.

Except that, some general improvements of all VANQUISH models were implemented. The update also includes improved ways of using batteries for all models as well as new reporting when the battery is low. The review Pro co nejmenší složení, jde ale detektor složit ještě jinak. Tyč z loketkou jde totiž vytáhnout a strčit z druhé strany, což jsme samozřejmě ihned udělali. I když tak Minelab uvádí délku složeného detektoru 76 cm, po otočení loketky se dostanete na 68 cm. The Simplex+ has Notch Discrimination and Iron Volume allowing users to customize their settings if desired. One downside of the Simplex+ is it is a single frequency metal detector, operating at 12 kHz. This model does have a frequency shift, so if there is a significant amount of electromagnetic or other interference, the frequency will shift slightly up or down to compensate. Probably the most exciting feature of the Vanquish Series, which puts it way ahead of others in its price range (and above), is the inclusion of Minelab's unique Multi-IQSimultaneous Multi-Frequency Technology, as seen in the Equinox Series which made it a real game changer in the metal detecting world and by far the best selling metal detector in 2018, 2019 and probably all-time to date. One of the most curious peculiarities of this Vanquish series is the Multi-IQ technology, that seems to break all the stereotypes and norms about entry-level metal detectors. And this is little surprise, really, since the competitors are literally close on the heels. Nokta Makro, for example, have developed an underwater detector with semi-automatic Ground balance – Nokta Makro Simplex – and this device is meant for beginners! This machine can be used on any terrain, and we will test it on a beach first. However, considering that the air always has more moisture by the ocean, it’s a clever idea to use the included waterproof cover when going to the beach. And for afters, let’s dissect Vanquish 540, the most sophisticated model of the three in this series.

In relic mode, the Vanquish is a pleasure to use. Still, a pinpointer can be helpful if you like hunting at night or if the soil is particularly muddy. Frequencies

When you arrive on the beach, you must switch on the Vanquish 540. You do this by putting the coil onto the sand and pressing down on the power button. The LED will start up, and now you can play with the settings. For a beach, you can set the determination to cut out particular objects, and the sensitivity levels can be high while engaging the jewelry button. Frankly speaking, I was disappointed, when I saw the novelty. It was like Garrett ACE 250, but in red. However, the reality has exceeded my expectations. It is a good idea to always have a pinpointer on hand to detect depth and exact location. Pinpointing always minimizes digging time, especially if you are unsure that the Vanquish 540’s pinpoint mode is not giving you accuracy. This does not make it a multi-frequency detector, but rather a single frequency with frequency shift. One of my favorite features of the Simplex+ is it has a vibrating Target ID. I really like this feature for the hearing-impaired detectorists, and for underwater metal detecting.

The lake beach sensitivity on an 8 is excellent, and to a 6 in the water. The remarkable thing about the Vanquish is that there are no in-between noises. That’s why you shouldn’t combine batteries of different types in one metal detector. Also, it’s not worth using old batteries and new ones together. The process of the battery charging and discharging should be done at least 5-10 times. In general, it is good for NiMh batteries when they get charged and discharge completely. Considering the detector’s reasonable pricing, it is the perfect choice for anyone wanting to treasure hunt, irrespective if you’re a beginner or a pro hunter. Because it is so well put together, lightweight, and easy to use, it gets a thumbs up as a build-and-go machine. Two of the other 3 most recommended multi-frequency metal detectors are Minelab products: the Minelab CTX 3000 and Equinox 800. The CTX 3000 was not covered here because it is a very complicated machine and a more high-end metal detector, not for beginners. It is also very expensive. The Vanquish line opens this otherwise expensive and complicated market to all detectorists.Multi-IQ means the metal detector uses several different frequencies simultaneously when searching, while most other detectors only use a single frequency.
