About this deal

Please excuse the occasional switching of which model is shown, I was painting all 10 at once, and I got a bit confused with which Plaguebearer I was supposed to be photographing.) Bone is a wash of sepia over the zenithal, followed by agrax and then thinned wyldwood. The highlights are morghast and ushabti This is a bit of a irk. As mentioned above, dropper bottles are supposed to reduce waste paint – but dribbly bottles are more prone to depositing excess paint on your palette. In our How to Paint Everything series, we take a look at different armies of the Warhammer universe, examine their history and heraldry, and look at several different methods for painting them. With Halloween fast approaching, we’re looking at how to paint the spookiest monsters around. In today’s HTPE, we’re looking at how to paint fearsome monsters that live inside each of us – Skeletons.

Tau Empire: The Tau Empire is a technologically advanced alien race in Warhammer 40K, known for their sleek, streamlined vehicles and advanced weaponry. The Zandri Dust paint is a great choice for adding depth and texture to these miniatures, allowing you to create a convincing, metallic finish that captures the sense of futuristic, high-tech equipment. Whether you’re painting the hulls of Tau battlesuits or the barrels of their pulse rifles, the Zandri Dust paint is a versatile tool that can help you achieve a wide range of effects. As reviewers, it’s more or less impossible for us to recommend one paint range over another. Paints, like so many over aspects of the hobby, are viciously personal. Everyone paints differently, and the subtle differences between each paint range will only become more obvious the more experienced you get as a painter. The paints themselves come in dropper bottles (which will be a relief to a lot of painters). Said dropper bottles also all include agitators, which helps ensure the paints mix well when you shake them before use. The skin of my Sylvaneth tree guy was Sotek Green highlighted with Ahriman Blue and white mixed. There is some glazing of Warpstone Glow. The sanctioned psykers are fun models. A few touches of brass and my officer color makes them stand out on the battlefield.Painting Skeletons is really about methods for painting bone, and so that’s really what we’re exploring today – multiple techniques for painting bones. And also Skeletor. Skails’ Method

The gold was done with a base coat of Citadel Retributor Armor, an all over wash of Citadel Druchii Violet, chunky highlight with Citadel Auric Gold, and a final highlight of Vallejo Silver. And that’s it! I think this gives quite a striking look for minimal effort - it’s mostly drybrushing and washes! Duncan’s basic but beautifully executed style made the forbidding word of miniature painting accessible to more people than ever before. Using only a handful of colours and a few brushes, Duncan would deftly create masterfully-painted miniatures with ease – and would impart his knowledge to you as he did so.The bottom edges of the muscles were thinly lined with Stonewall Grey for a bounce reflection/ environmental light. Wash Vallejo Charred Brown, leaving the base of the horn untouched, and smooth the wash line with water. Let dry thoroughly.
