About this deal

On the other hand, the Riptide is a Micro ATX board, employing a dozen 50A power stages for the vcore. It manages to fit in four PCIe slots, though full usage is only possible with a single slot graphics card. It has two M.2 slots, with the primary slot being PCIe 5.0 compatible. It also features 9 USB 3.2 ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, a 2.5Gbit LAN, and WiFi 6E. Another viable option at this price point is the Gigabyte B650M Aorus Elite AX, which includes a dozen 60A power stages for the vcore VRM, albeit with just two PCIe expansion slots. It includes a PCIe 5.0-enabled M.2 port, an additional PCIe 4.0 M.2, eleven USB 3.2 ports, eight USB 2.0 ports, and WiFi 6E.

Of course, design is a matter of personal preference, so feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section. Earlier this week, we reviewed the Msi Pro X670-P Wifi. That motherboard really surprised us with its cooling performance, amount of M.2 slots – and most importantly, its affordable price. The only downside of it came from all the issues we faced with its BIOS. It was not a very good first impression of this MSI series if you’d ask me, but we still hope that one was an exception.Having said that, be sure to go for a 6000MHz memory for optimal performance unless you’re on a restricted budget and need to save money for other components. Extended Heatsink Design: MSI extended PWM heatsink and enhanced circuit design ensures even high-end processors to run in full speed.

All the accessories which were delivered along with the product should be returned in the same way and along with the product. Lightning Gen4 solution: The latest Gen4 PCI-E and M.2 solution with up to 64GB/s bandwidth for maximum transfer speed. The Aorus Master price doesn't make much sense at this time. The Taichi is a decent board but isn't spectacular at anything, though it does offer USB 4 support out of the box, which might be beneficial to you. That leaves Asus' E Gaming, which we think is the best high-end option here. They are perfect if you are on a budget and don’t need a vast amount of SATA ports or USB ports. In my opinion, if you want to buy a budget-oriented setup, this is your go-to.Even though it is not commonly used nowadays, this board supports multi-GPU. It has 2 slots for the graphics card, the first one is x16 with PCIe 4.0 support and a steel shield to prevent sagging and damage to the slot. The fact that it offers two PCIe 5.0 enabled x16 slots is a big plus. We're not saying you need that, but if you want it, this is the cheapest means of acquiring that configuration.

Premium Thermal Solution: Extended Heatsink with Heat-Pipe, MOSFET thermal pads rated for 7W/mK, additional choke thermal pads and M.2 Shield Frozr are built for high performance system and non-stop gaming experience Then, we have the Asus Prime series, which includes the Prime B650M-A WiFi, Prime B650-Plus, and Prime B650M-A WiFi II. Unfortunately, we must recommend avoiding these. Like the ultra-affordable Gigabyte B650M K, the Asus Prime boards all use discrete MOSFETs, resulting in poor VRM thermals.

And as you can imagine, the higher-end ones with above 190W of TDP all gave this board a hard time. Adding to the list of downsides of this low-end chipset, we have the low memory OC threshold. Surprisingly, it’s not as much of a problem as it might seem, as it can still reach speeds of up to 6400MHz.

While this design may not be to everyone’s taste, I do appreciate the absence of the grey area with the MSI logo that was present on the X670-P. MSI Pro B650-P WIFI has the Latest DDR5 Memory: A huge step of DDR performance enhancement with the latest DDR5 memory and MSI Memory Boost technology.Core Boost: With premium layout and fully digital power design to support more cores and provide better performance. Having taken a look at each board individually, it's time to get to testing. For testing all B650 boards, we're using the Gigabyte Aorus C500 Glass case with the Aorus WaterForce X 360mm AIO.
