However, as you can see from my pic of the current mirror, looks like there's some soldering to be done! What is that for? Auto dimming perhaps? Is an auto-dimming heated mirror realistically a whole unit replacement on error? If you don't get the proper replacement (and the link you gave was to a non dimming version too) then you will have only 2 of the 3 mirrors dimming when there are bright headlights behind you which might be a bit odd. Did a little more digging and you're absolutely right, the mirror replacements with dimming have the connections soldered in and are a LOT more expensive unfortunately. Prior to installing the side view mirror, you need to remove any debris or broken parts from the housing. You may need a flathead screwdriver to get any small pieces off. However, you should never use your fingers to remove broken pieces of glass.You dont need any mechanical skills to fit this mirror, its very easy. Simply connect wires to the heater element and push mirror in to the mirror housing. Please note that not all vehicales have mirror heater function.
