The large size and placement of the carrier interferes with adult getting on the bike and makes steering and pedaling more cumbersome Our primary tester for the WeeRide was almost 3 years old and in the 90 th percentile for height and weight. He fit very comfortably in the seat once we adjusted for maximum space in the harness and footrests, and was clearly at the upper end of the tolerances for this model.

To be fair, rider space is a very common issue with front-mounted seats.However, it’s a bit more exaggerated with the Weeride Kangaroo. You’ll also need to watch out for sufficient clearance between your rear tire and the tow arm. While we did not personally experience any issues with this, it is possible for the bottom of the seat post to hit the rear tire on some adult bikes if there’s not enough clearance.The drop handlebars on a road bike means the rider has to lean forward over the crossbar to get to the lower position. Rear bikes seats are generally better suited unless you are willing to sacrifice being able to reach the lower handlebars. That said, you’ll still be able to reach the main handlebar. MOUNTAIN BIKE For most cases a centre-mounted front bike seat will be the best option. But that may not be the case depending on how you plan to ride with your child. Giving the seat a freshen up with some new straps or replacing the occasional part saves the cost of buying an entirely new seat if anything does break or wear out. Once the spacer is installed, simply remove the smaller, thinner plastic spacer inside the front clamp of the seat’s mounting bar (the plastic insert closest to the “FRONT” marking on the bar, marked with red arrow below). Once removed, wrap the clamp around the groved spacer, making sure the end of the bar is placed inside the spacers’ groves, and then tighten.

As long as your bike has between 49 to 60cm clearance from seat post to headset, the Weeride Kangaroo will fit. However we do not recommend it for racer bikes or drop handle bikes because of the riding position (rider is too hunched over) and for small-wheel / 20” compact folding bikes . The rotating hitch on the Co-Pilot allows you to turn your bike while the angle of the Co-Pilot flexes behind you.
