With your character and ship close at hand, you’re ready for your first adventure in the Outer Rim. On your turn, you’ll begin in the planning phase, and you're immediately faced with a choice of how to spend your time. Taking odd jobs around your current location earns you 2,000 credits, but prevents you from moving. Making repairs to your ship ensures you’re ready for a fight, but again anchors you to your current location. These options can prepare you for the encounters to come, but you’ll never become a legend if you don’t take to the stars. Your final option is movement, travelling along hyperspace routes from planet to planet in search of fame and credits. You’ve made a name for yourself in the Outer Rim, but there is still Unfinished Business. Hyperlanes through the Core Worlds hold the promise of untapped opportunities. The market is flush with new merchandise, from valuable cargo to tools of the trade. Just watch your step; the latest crop of bounties is even deadlier, and your rivals are looking to take you down!These stories will expand the universe of Twilight Imperium in exciting and unexpected ways, and they are written and drawn by some of the biggest names in comics, including Ron Marz ( Silver Surfer, Witchblade), Andy Lanning ( Guardians of the Galaxy, Annihilation), Dan Abnett ( Gaunt’s Ghosts, Horus Heresy), and more. Of course, we’re working closely with the folks at CMON to ensure that everything in these stories will perfectly fit within the Twilight Imperium canon. But for those looking for something new in this expansion, the ambitions hit the mark. These are great for new players who might not be totally sure what they should do at the start. Each ambition will nudge you in a specific direction of who your character will be. Some will have you focused on bounty hunting, some collecting powerful gear, while others will have you trying to be the best smuggler in the rim. While I enjoyed these, I’m not sure I’d play with them all the time. They were cool in that they gave the end game a climactic feel. However, you are definitely pigeonholed by the kind of character you play during the game. If you drew the Crime Lord ambition, then you won’t be wasting time hauling cargo or hunting bounties. So if you’d prefer to keep the open world feel and make your way as you go, then you’d probably leave the ambitions in the box.

This expansion is a side-story that can be incorporated into your Act I campaign or played as a standalone adventure. Act II is still a ways off, but development is going smoothly, and in the meantime fans of Descent can look forward to Ghosts of Greyhaven to tide them over!
