While I wish I could've enjoyed the surface level festiveness of a Christmassy/holiday-themed movie being filmed over the holidays, the promised fun and hilarity and tension of both the bad boy ex-boyband member trying to rehab his image paired up with an actual sex worker trying to branch into a different kind of film -- and also stay wholesome so as not to let anyone in on the secret of her career -- just never panned out. This wasn't really fun, there was only some token forced humour (which wasn't funny), and the tension was flimsy at best considering how painfully oblivious the non-sex industry folks were to who was both starring and working on this movie. Also, I feel like every conflict could've either been avoided or was brought on by the dumb actions of the main characters (the picture in the strip club? you've got to be kidding me).

And the smut was cringe and sex scenes are written so clunkily I legit can’t believe this was meant to be taken seriously. There was zero sensuality! Everything from the words chosen to the actual vibe of the scene completely pulled me out of the story. Examples: Two best friends fake date to reach their holiday happily ever after in this first romantic comedy in the Lovelight series. As Amira and Duncan clash, she is surprised to feel a simmering attraction for him. How can she be interested in someone who doesn’t get her, or her family’s culture? This is not a complication she needs when her future is at stake. But when intolerance rears its ugly head and people who are close to Amira get hurt, she learns that there is more to Duncan than meets the eye. Now she must decide what she is willing to fight for. In the end, it may be that this small-town singer is the only person who sees her at all. When she’s not writing or reliving her reference desk glory days, she can be found watching made-for-TV movies, hunting for the perfect slice of cheese pizza, and planning her next great travel adventure. I think this book will be wonderful for those of us who love Holiday movies but want them to get a little bit dirtier. Because it has the vibes but add a few chili peppers. I would love to read more from this author pairing again soon.

But when Bee’s favorite producer casts her to star in a Christmas movie he’s making for the squeaky-clean Hope Channel, Bee’s career is about to take a more family-friendly direction. Speaking of the Audio Performances for just a second, I love Joy Nash & Sebastian York and I feel like they brought this story to life in a beautiful way. I was fully engaged in their talent to bring the words to life, and when I don't have a book to follow along with, I really need to audio book to hold my attention well, and they surely did that. Joy Nash particularly made Nolan's dirty talk pop. Overall: Sierra’s naughty, stimulating, steamy power combine with ultra entertaining, smart and sweet mind of Murphy! The result is amazing! I had so much fun and wonderful time! I think I’m so open to read sequels! I’d like to read other Ink members’ stories as well!
