You need to keep two Chainrasp in reserve, but in a narrative campaign you can bring them on as soon as you increase your point limit. How to buy a Nighthaunt Warband Is it unplayable? No, you can include this in your army and have fun with it in casual settings, but as someone who looks at units through the lens of ‘would I bring this to a tournament?’ the answer is sadly no, because I want to pay points for abilities I know will go off, not abilities that have a 33% chance to do ANYTHING round two, and 50% on round three. Not many battles with Nighthaunt are still undecided by battle round three, so why would I pay 150 points to give me an edge in long games? Craventhrone Guard
If two of the dice show the same value, they can be used to activate a Double ability. If three show the same value, they can be used for a Triple ability, and so on. the shade is fairly common in the “intro” paint sets; so if you see my desk I’m still using the 12ml pot I got from them The God of Death, in his twisted sense of justice, left them enough memories of their past life to torment them forever, in their constant hatred for the living. many enemy units as possible so that you can counter spells left right and center. Then again, why not run a couple of them to cover more of the field and unbind any cast that leaves a wizard’s lips.

Hard to recommend as their role in your army isn’t terribly clear. They don’t get the size of Chainrasp Hordes, the rend of Grimghast Reapers or the speed of Hexwraiths. They get to reroll all hits if they charge or were charge but have a mediocre (For Nighthaunts) 6″ movement. You can likely substitute anything with a more specialized role and do better. Shroudguard are a host of Nighthaunt Malignants, usually Bladegheist Revenants guarding a Knight of Shrouds, who are bound to their master or mistress by magical oaths. I’ve been drybrushing Rakarth Flesh over the Stirland Mud bases and sometimes Mechanicus Standard Grey stones - but I’d argue Corax White is better for the later. Issue 23 / Liberators and Prosecutor (B Sprue) Glaivewraith Stalkers are deployed in sets of four, and, Grimghast Reapers are deployed in groups of ten! Soul Wars: Knight of Shrouds on Ethereal Steed as a leader, Guardian of Souls as hero, 2 Grimghast Reapers, 2 Glaivewraith Stalkers and 1 Chainrasp. All available from the Soul Wars starter set for an all-round warband with weight, healing and numbers. Lightshard of the Harvest Moon –Pop this once per game. Once you do every unit within 12″ can reroll failed hits. Crazy good with the right timing, but you need to manage the aura around the Guardian of Souls. B+
