I don't generally read Christian romance because it's just too fluffy, too sugary sweet. I remember reading a Kingsbury book years and years ago, so I thought I'd give this a try since I like angel books. This was like watching an episode of the old show Touched by an Angel, but grittier. A grounder to first took care of the next batter. Tyler felt stronger now than he had at the beginning of the game. He settled himself on the mound and stared at the catcher. Change-up to start the batter. Tyler liked it. He wound up and caught the guy watching. Strike one. The second pitch was outside, same with the third. If you read Angels Walking then you've been introduced to Mary Catherine, Marcus, Sami and Tyler. Chasing Sunsets is Mary Catherine's and Marcus' story. But tonight was different. Tonight the Blue Wahoo fans loved Tyler Ames. They knew his name. He could hear them. As with the other novels, Kingsbury highlights the role of angels in the lives of the novel's characters. This story centers on Mary Catherine. She is in need of a heart transplant and it looks like the chances of that happening are slim. Convinced the relationship between her and Marcus should not continue, she spurns his love for her and goes to Africa. The angels take on the task of preserving her life and seeing to it that her future is in line with the future God has planned.

In Brush of Wings we were in two different locations and I think they had a great impact on the overall story. I also think Karen did a wonderful job of a little summary of the first two books by weaving them into the story. Angel Symbols What I could have done without was the endless letters to Kingbury's children at the beginning and the notes at the end. I think those are best left to the print book where one can read them or not. I got about 5 people in and finally realised that the whole prologue was nothing but that. So I skipped on to the first chapter. This book is about the character named Mary Catherine. We meet her in the first book but this time she is the main character. Its about her and her friends as they are setting up a youth center in the most dangerous area of LA. It is about how they deal with the gangs and so much more.Kingsbury is known to readers for penning the fiction series titled Angels Walking. This fascinating fiction story is an up close look at what can happen when the everyday world is totally transformed by the entrance of supernatural characters into the mix. Besides the above two points the story was awesome. Tyler is like the prodigal son who takes a baseball contract despite his parents wishes that he would go to college on a scholarship. He leaves his parents and his girlfriend Sami for stardom he envisions in baseball. He proceeds to spend all his money and misbehave (drinking and women). Five years down the road after not speaking to his parents and breaking up with Sami, Tyler is on the verge of finally making the Reds. He has a perfect game going and blows out his shoulder. Team cuts him and no insurance to fix his shoulders. I don't know if I have acclimated to the writing style or I was just really determined to enjoy Mary Catherine "I need a heart transplant, but not as much as I need to fulfill my lifelong dream of volunteering at an orphanage in Uganda" Clark and everything about her story, but I was able to brush off most of what annoyed me and enjoy what I came for.

Book 3 will hopefully hold the answers as Karen leaves us with a bit of a cliffhanger! Angels can indeed have the appearance of earthly men. Abraham treated the visitors with generous hospitality as though they were men, but one was actually Jesus. Finding coins, on your path or finding currency in general, is a common sign of guidance and support from the realms of spirit. This was such a hard-hitter. The guy who the main character is trying to avoid is a baseball player. lol One more, Tyler caught the ball from the catcher. Just one. A breeze blew in from the bay, but Tyler couldn’t stop sweating. Breathe, Ames. Just breathe. They were the words he told himself every time the game got tense. He dragged his arm over his forehead, stood straight up on the mound, and took a deep breath.Tyler is unique among other young men for his age. For one, he is into sports in a big way. But he isn’t just into sports the way that some guys go out and play on the basketball court. He managed to do very well at one particular sport and did so well that he was recruited and became a star. Just like that he went from a nobody in the world of baseball to being someone that was celebrated. His name was on everyone’s lips and they all came out to see Tyler Ames play.
