About this deal

Most of my removal of course is creature based or just by countering problems, but I do have [[Chaos Warp]], [[Smash to Dust]], [[Otawara, Soaring City]] During the Declare Battle Formations step, for each Leader in your army, if your army also includes one or more of that Leader’s Bodyguard units, you can select one of those Bodyguard units. That Leader will then attach to that Bodyguard unit for the duration of the battle and is said to be leading that unit. Each Bodyguard unit can only have one Leader attached to it. The Kelermorph isn’t just a lone operator, however: It also has the Heroic Inspiration rule, which boosts all nearby Wyrmblade Neophyte operatives each time the Kelermorph incapacitates an enemy operative, giving visible operatives within ■ the ability to retain a single hit roll of 5+ as a critical hit whenever they shoot or fight. This pairs well with shotgun Neophytes.

Fantastic Skills: The Adept gets access to Wyrd powers, which is awesome, the Alpa gets Shooting and Combat, for a choose-your-own-adventure of excellence, and the Hybrid Acolytes get the brutally good combination of Ferocity and Cunning. Everywhere you look in this gang, good skill choices abound.Such is the devotion that the Kelermorph engenders, for he is the physical embodiment of the freedom falsely promised by the followers of the " Star Children."

Cult Icon: The Cult Icon can supercharge a group activation, and if you go with melee-heavy GSC, it could come in handy big time. To manifest the psychic power, you must first pass a Psychic test. The opposing player can then select one of their PSYKER units that is within 24" of the PSYKER unit attempting to manifest the power and attempt to deny that power before its effects are resolved by passing a Deny the Witch test. Let’s take a look at the Genestealer Cultists that make up Starn’s Disciples as featured in the set in a bit more detail:Please continue not to put the Tectonic Fragdrill in your lists. Didn’t even get any terrain traits added in the FAQ, shameful. Which, actually, raises a legitimate question as to whether a model can stand on it at all now? Does the “Sector Mechanicus Structure” rule do anything in 9th without traits? Interesting philosophical question, but not competitively relevant. At least the updated fortification network rules mean adding it to a more casual list is way more valid, because who doesn’t want to raise a claw to the sky while shouting “activate the drill”? List Building If you have the first turn, you must reveal all of your ambush markers at the start of your Command phase. If this unit is set up underground, then in the Reinforcements step of one of your Movement phases, you can set up this unit under one of the following conditions: I included many creatures that deal 1 damage to opponents or creatures when I cast noncreature spells.

Genestealer Cults only get one gang-specific Tactics Card, and it’s pretty good! It’s called Cult Ambush and it allows you to expand your deployment zone by 3”. It can’t overlap into your enemy’s deployment zone, but it can get those Aberrants 3” closer. It is also especially effective in the smaller maps and bigger deployment zones (as a function of total area) in a Zone Mortalis game. Frag Grenades: They exist in every list, and they’re always meh. In this case, they’re downgraded to bleh because blasting charges are only 5 cred more. Rating: C-

Cult Alphas come with them, and any Adept or Neophyte can pay to take them when you buy the fighter. It leans into the instants-and-sorceries side of things, so it runs the famous Gelectrode and its best friend Thermo-Alchemist.

Flamer: Hand Flamers are 33% off, but regular Flamers sure aren’t! Too expensive to be any good. Rating: D List building is a nightmare – much harder to bring in all the cults you want, and a struggle to fit HQs needed. Cult Ambush’s ability to be reactive in deployment is exceptionally good in the missions, allowing GSC to adapt to going first or second on the fly. Use Scanner Decoys a lot. When you select a PSYKER unit to manifest psychic powers, you select one psychic power that unit knows and attempt to manifest it. With the exception of Smite, you cannot attempt to manifest the same psychic power more than once in the same battle round, even with different PSYKER units. The same PSYKER unit cannot attempt to manifest Smite more than once during the same battle round. Laspistol: Laspistols are slightly better than Autopistols because they’re slightly more accurate and substantially more reliable. Naturally, they trade the potential for multiple shots, but we think they’re just a touch better. Rating: B Raise the Banners High (Shadow Operations): You have a lot of small INFANTRY squads, and your opponent often won’t be able to safely push onto objectives you’ve flagged till you’ve squeezed a decent few points out of them. Its also at least worth thinking about Repair Teleport Homer in this category against an opponent with low ground coverage – If they’ve sent their forces to engage elsewhere, you can drop a unit in their deployment zone and start scoring this (you can begin it straight out of deep strike) while protecting the unit with Lurk.
