Often when we hear the name of the UK we imagine rain. I expected to read about the poor weather in almost every story, but I was pleasantly surprised. Instead, I read about trees with ancient history, small islands with beautiful flora, bizarre signs in pubs and beautiful parks. From time to time I would stop and open Google looking for the place in question, which was discussed in the story I was reading. I marked out places to visit when I manage to get there.It is a formidable sight, especially with its grand west front and twin towers and the central tower behind. Most of it was built in the Early English Gothic style, with its characteristic pointed arches. This also included the unusual ‘crazy’ vaulting and the rose windows in the transepts, two of the finest in England.
