About this deal

The GX-10 has been designed to let the photographer customize and take control of their camera with the My Set Dial option allowing you to personalise your dial settings by choosing your most frequently used functions for ultimate ease of use.

The performance of this speaker is one of an audio punch. It’s clear and loud which is what you want from a wireless speaker. Connecting this speaker was very simple to turn it on and it automatically tried to connect and once paired you’re ready to go. Your Sharp mobile phone has been designed, manufactured and tested so as not to exceed the limits for exposure to electromagnetic fields recommended by the Council of the European Union. These limits are part of comprehensive guidelines developed by independent scientific organisations. The guidelines include a substantial safety margin designed to assure the safety of the phone user and others and to take into account variations in age and health, individual sensitivities and environmental conditions. European standards provide for the amount of radio frequency electromagnetic energy absorbed by the body when using a mobile phone to be measured by reference to the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR). The SAR limit for the general public is currently 2 watts per kilogram averaged over 10 grams of body tissue. Your Sharp mobile phone SAR value is 0.56 watts per kilogram. This has been tested to ensure that this limit is not exceeded even when the phone is operating at its highest certified power. In use however your Sharp mobile phone may operate at less than full power because it is designed to use only sufficient power to communicate with the network. With the GX-10, continuous shooting at 3 fps (frames per second) is possible; RAW files can be shot at the same speed up to 9 frames; giving the user the best chance to get a great picture. Now compare it with this crop from the same image, but this time shot in DNG RAW mode and converted using Adobe Camera RAW in Photoshop CS2. The colour gradations are finer, and the shot is noticeably more detailed. The GX-10 has the ability to shoot multiple exposures, up to nine shots on the same frame, automatically adjusting the exposure as it goes. In this mode shooting is quite a bit slower, shooting at about one frame every 1.3 seconds, so it’s not particularly useful for fast-moving subjects, but it can produce some interesting effects. The viewfinder is especially good. Some modern DSLRs have rather small, dark viewfinders, but the GX-10’s pentaprism design is more like the large bright finders found on classic 35mm film SLRs, with 95 percent frame coverage and 95 percent magnification. The 11 target points of the AF system are bright and easy to see even in bright sunlight, and fine lines of the targeting reticule are unobtrusive. There is a fairly complete data display along the bottom frame of the viewfinder, although I did find it a little dim and difficult to read in bright sunlight. Possibly some sort of automatic brightness adjustment would be a good idea? One handy feature unique to Pentax-designed DSLRs is the “Hyper-program” mode. With the camera set to program exposure, turning the shutter speed or aperture setting command dial overrides the programmed setting, effectively putting the camera into aperture or shutter priority mode, very useful for changing exposure settings on the fly. Samsung also announced that five kinds of lenses will be launched soon. These lenses have been designed to enable real freedom in the creative process and include: fish eye lens (fish eye 10-17mm F3.5-F4.5 ED), an ultra wide zoom lens (12-24mm F4 ED AL), a wide zoom lens (16-45mm F4 ED AL), a fixed focus lens (35mm F2 AL) and a macro lens (Macro 100mm F2.8).

The GX-10 boasts a 10.2 mega-pixel image sensor, which offers the photographer a sharper image, with richer colours for a truly compelling composition. Taking photos is made easier with the PentaPrism viewfinder with its high magnification (0.95x) to provide a clearer, wider field of view (95%) for optimum shooting. For unrivalled viewing of photos the GX-10 also comes complete with a wide view 2.5” TFT LCD (210k pixels). With its powerful built-in Optical Picture Stabilization (OPS) technology, the GX-10 prevents blurred pictures by shifting the CCD to counter any movement of the camera’s body. In addition, when a manual lens is used in ordinary digital SLR cameras, the camera’s shake prevention mechanism does not function properly since the camera does not have the lens information. In the GX-10, however, the manual lens information can be input so that film cameras’ manual lenses can also be used with the GX-10. (In some digital SLR, because the lens has the shake prevention functionality, the unsteady hands cannot be compensated for when manual lenses are used.) Thanks to its rugged build and the ocean-blue colour, this speaker got me thinking about the beach a lot, so it seemed appropriate to pull up an “Island vibes” playlist to put it through its paces. The breezy mix of reggae, ska and R&B did a good job at showcasing the sonic capabilities of the GX-BT60, and by the time the last guitar strum faded out, I was suitably impressed. NEW - Picture Editing Tool - A more powerful picture editor, allowing you to edit your pictures and images with greater functionality. As with previous DSLRs that I’ve tested, I shot this image in RAW mode and then converted it to a maximum-quality JPEG using Adobe Camera RAW in Photoshop CS2. See below for a comparison crop at full resolution.

NatWest, RBS and Ulster Bank to close at least 172 branches in 2023/24 – here's the full list, plus alternatives At the maximum 1600 ISO there is a fair bit of image noise visible, but the performance is still well up to the expected standard. Autumn Statement: Workers to pay less in national insurance – but rate cuts don't offset the freezing of personal tax thresholds If you’re in the market for a compact, eminently affordable Bluetooth speaker capable of putting out powerful and satisfying audio, the Sharp GX-BT60 is a great choice. It’s cheaper than the similarly sized Tribit StormBox Micro and has more muscle than the JBL GO 3, which costs the same but is smaller.

I just had to get a photo of my new car in there somehow, didn’t I? Here it is ably demonstrating the excellent dynamic range available from the RAW mode. The exposure was adjusted in Adobe Camera RAW to bring up a lot of highlight and shadow detail that was simply not visible in JPEG mode. Multiple destination SMS send - makes it simple to send a text message/ringtone/graphic to more than one phone at a time. Use your phone to surf the net - utilize the modem and connect to the Internet or send & receive faxes (if your phone has an in-built modem). The lenses will also be compatible with the DSLRs launched by Samsung earlier in the year – the GX-1S and GX-1L which were aimed towards the serious amateur photographer. Samsung adds, “We will also expand professional lens line-up aggressively next year.

To show the difference in detail and colour depth between the camera’s native high-compression JPEG and the DNG RAW format, take a look at this colourful image. It was shot in JPEG mode. At each end of the speaker, you will find a silver passive bass radiator that has the sharp logo printed in the centre. The issue I found is which is top or bottom but sharp have come up with a solution they have attached a lace cord meaning if you hang the speaker up it does not matter as you will get sound from both ends. However, when not hanging do I lay it down or stand it up and which end? Our testing seems to indicate lay it on its side provides a smooth and warm sound but see what you like. While the GX-BT60 is able to reach an impressive maximum volume for a speaker of its size, it doesn’t quite manage to maintain audio fidelity at its loudest. For the most part, output remains consistent but there were a few instances where trebles felt a little piercing at the highest volume. These issues were rare and not overly impactful, but it’s something worth taking into account if you’re planning on regularly cranking it up to the max. Rounding out the list of features is a built-in microphone, allowing you to use the speaker for calls or hailing your voice assistant, and “Duo Mode”. This function enables you to pair two GX-BT60 speakers to create a stereo sound experience. As I only received one speaker, I can’t attest to the efficacy of this, but Sharp claims that with a direct line of sight, the two speakers should be able to perform with a range of over 40 metres between them.Martin Lewis: What the Autumn Statement means for you – including wages, benefits, pensions, ISAs, housing, national insurance and more NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and Ulster Bank, which are all part of the NatWest Group, will now shut at least 172 of their bank branches in 2023 and 2024.
