These flavorful barrels are then filled with premium single malt scotch and left to finish. When done the transformation is significant, the whisky is initially overpowered by bold flavors of apple, vanilla, oak, and fresh aromatic hops. This is more than just 18-year-old Jameson. It’s a masterful blend of hand-selected 18-year-old whiskeys aged in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks initially. That juice is then married and finished in first-fill bourbon casks until it’s just right. Once those barrels hit the right notes, they’re vatted, proofed, and bottled.

In many ways, IPA whisky is still in its infancy stage. A relative newcomer to the market, numerous companies are currently experimenting with this recipe. Younger generations are significantly more likely to follow a meat-free diet, with gen Z (aged 18 to 23) being the most likely to avoid meat already (25%) and plan on giving it up (30%) in 2022.

The biggest change statistically though is veganism. If the 1 million people who intend to become vegan this year actually do so, this would be an increase of 98% compared to last year.

What does Jameson IPA Edition Whisky Taste Like?

The diet that will have the most new recruits in 2021 looks to be vegetarianism, as 2.8 million intend to take up this lifestyle. There is a clear age divide when it comes to views on eating meat. Our studies show that millennials are currently the most meat-free generation. Almost 1 in 4 (18%) of millennials currently go without meat by following a pescatarian, vegetarian or vegan diet, and a further 26% intend to stop eating meat in 2023. This whiskey is a bit of a rebrand from Jameson 10, which became Crested 10, and is now just Jameson Crested. The juice in the bottle is a blend of triple-distilled, pot still whiskey (again, made from a blend of malted and unmalted barley). The blend leans into ex-sherry casks with ex-bourbon casks acting as a supporting act. Once blended, the whiskey is proofed all the way down to 80 proof for bottling.
