About this deal

Dan_ozzzy189 Haven’t tried the plats, but I’ve played with these a fair bit by now and I’ve had little to no problems with any type of tension/headaches! Somewhat Off-Topic Question / Concern regarding the PS5's Audio, I've noticed the Audio for the PS5 is significantly lower than on the PS4, most games on PS4 I only need the volume on my TV to be between 10 & 25, while for the PS5 I need the TV to be between 30 - 50 to hear Audio (Especially dialogue), is it just me or is the PS5's Audio worse than PS4's? I’ve been PCMag’s home entertainment expert for over 10 years, covering both TVs and everything you might want to connect to them. I’ve reviewed more than a thousand different consumer electronics products including headphones, speakers, TVs, and every major game system and VR headset of the last decade. I’m an ISF-certified TV calibrator and a THX-certified home theater professional, and I’m here to help you understand 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and even 8K (and to reassure you that you don’t need to worry about 8K at all for at least a few more years). I see here it says they will work. Someone replied that the Gold and Platinum headsets will only work on PS5, but only while playing PS4 games. I can't find any source for that statement anywhere, so I'm thinking that's some kind of guess presented as a fact.

Pulse 3D Wireless Headset - Push Square Hardware Review: PS5 Pulse 3D Wireless Headset - Push Square

They're definitely the most comfortable headphones I've ever had myself (never spend more than 200 on such a thing). Still don't really like having them on for too long. Switch the headset on and wait for the blue light to stop blinking and turn solid blue. A solid blue light indicates a successful pairing. audio complements 7.1 surround sound to enhance its effects. Certain PlayStation 4 games fully support 3D audio, which will give you an even more breathtaking experience with sounds coming from all directions like above, behind, or below you. Playing through Drake’s latest adventure with the Platinum headphones on gave the cinematic video experience a matching aural one similar what you’d find at a movie theater. Obviously it wasn’t as immersive as using a traditional 7.1 speaker setup, but the Platinum Headset did help us realize the level of detail the development team at Naughty Dog put into the game. The bad news? At launch, PS4's support for 3D audio is limited to just Uncharted 4. It's down to each developer to patch in the object-based audio, and leaves us with only one compatible title for review here. Later in 2017, games like Day's Gone, MLB The Show 17 and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy are set to join that list, but we hope that's not the end of it. Those itching to get their first sample of 3D audio will be well served if they enjoy Naughty Dog's games, but beyond that, early adopters should manage their expectations - the only upgrade for unsupported titles will come from the improved speaker quality. You need something for constant use. Since this headset is wireless, you'll need to charge it every now and then, and unfortunately the charge-up time for this one is pretty slow. You want a multi-platform headset. The Turtle Beach Recon 70 is a pretty versatile headset, so if you want something you'll be able to use outside of gaming with a PS4, then it's worth considering, especially given its price point. If you're all good with keeping tethered to your setup then the HyperX Cloud Alpha headset is hard value to argue against on your PS4 system. It's a tried and true formula that's frequently been upgraded over the years for a reason - it feels great on your head and sounds like a headset which should by all rights cost far more. Charge the battery by connecting the headset to a supported USB device such as a PS5 console or PS4 console. The status indicator changes behavior while the battery is charging.

In The Last Guardian, those cavernous rooms feel truly empty: you hear the echo of footsteps resonate in your ears, and you can hear the sound of creaking wooden walkways as they bend and strain in the wind.

Sony Platinum Wireless Headset - the Digital Foundry verdict

It’s good news, then, that the core audio quality is so good – miles ahead of the competition, in fact. If you’re a PS4 gamer in need of a headset, this is the one to get, and even PC, Xbox and Switch players should seriously consider it. We’ve not heard a better alternative.

It also means your voice isn’t channelled directly into the headset’s twin microphones, so it can sometimes sound muffled and quiet on the other end. But for your average player the microphone quality is perfectly fine, and an improvement over the mono chat headset included with the PS4. I got these as a replacement after my Platinum Headset broke... I don't find major sound improvements over the Platinum what I do find to be a major improvement is that the new ones seem to be way less sensitive to wireless interference so I don't experience random disconnections as I did with the Platinum, range also seems way better as I'm able to go to a different room without losing signal while I was unable to with the PlatinumsI’ve had this since day zero and absolutely love it. Honestly after hearing the difference in footsteps in Call of Duty it’s hard for me to play without putting them on now. Astro's reputation for gaming headsets has been the envy of other manufacturers for the better part of a decade now. Like all previous versions of the A50, this refreshed model is about as expensive as the market gets, but it's also right at the high-tide line for quality. Much like the 'Gold' Wireless Headset 2.0, being a first party product also gives the Platinum headset several benefits. For one, HUD icons for battery status, microphone mute, and the surround sound mode in use are all integrated into the PS4 front-end (displaying next to the controller battery icon). It's a luxury third parties can't tap into, where most rely instead on LED flashes on the headset to gauge battery life. It gives it an edge, and likewise for the simplicity of setup - a wireless USB dongle is all you need, rather than routing to an external processing unit via an optical cable. No, we believe that PS5 games should take advantage of the new capabilities and features we’re bringing to the platform, including the features of DualSense wireless controller.
