About this deal

The spark plug is essential for the power stroke of your Vespa engine. The spark ignites the fuel/air mixture causing combustion in the cylinder chamber. If the engine doesn’t get the right spark then this will affect the performance of your Vespa. eventually after 20 minutes of trying, it starts, and stays running --- but if I open the throttle, then the engine wants to die out. If I let go throttle, it recovers. In this article, we will mostly go into detail about the common problems you can have when your Vespa keeps cutting out. These are things that you might be able to discover and fix yourself. We will leave the complicated stuff for the mechanics in the workshop. If you don’t have any experience, you can do more wrong than good on your Vespa. Just to add to the above, it followed a few posts about carbs, obviously, but what isnt there but was mentioned before hand was,

Classic Vespa: the spark plug is accessible by opening the right cowl or the engine side door panel on a small frame. The spark plug cap is usually above the engine. It is visually easy to see and to pull off. To remove the spark plug you need an official Vespa plug wrench/spanner. This official tool makes it easier to remove and place the spark plug. We can conclude that the further away the stream of propellant from paint the greater propellant speed required. I wrote a piece on the si carb, mainly mixer tubes and there different effects. By opening up the air corrector to un restricted ambient atmospheric pressure, it alters the way the carb works, and allows the mixers to operate right through the rev range. Turn the idle mixture screw first. Listen to the engine. If it sounds like it’s running faster, turn it the other way until it starts choking a bit. Each time only turn a quarter turn. Do it slowly as it takes about 5 seconds for the engine to show a reaction. You will hear the engine speeding up or faltering. Also, given that I have a Sito+ already is this worth doing? I suspect from the chart I've seen that it's a great mod to do, but I'm wondering if my 120 will need to go up as a result. It's already a bigger jet than most of you run (I've tried 2 complete sets of jets from 116- 122), I found 1 of the 120s works great- varying results with others.

While you may think that the engine is the most important part for a Vespa to run, the carburetor is equally important. The carburetor ensures that the engine gets the correct amount of fuel and air. It prevents the engine from running rich (too much gas) or running lean (too much air). Data may also be transmitted to: Google LLC, USA. I suspect without the oil, the filter passes more air than it should and leaves you lean. You can now see that the amount the A/F added is teeny weeny from the idle mixture screw up the rev range. There has to be some A/F added, via this circuit upto WOT, as there is a fault with a T5 scooter which makes me believe this to be the case. (idle circuit emptys while riding, throttle off engine momenteraly dies). we also know this because within delorto tapered needle litrature, it states, the lower the fuel from venturi the leaner the engine runs. or something along those lines, its far better written, but you get the gist.

Which explains why a be3 is richer at higher revs (1.5mm dia upper holes) but at the same time leaner at lower revs than an alomost identical be5 ( 1mm dia upper holes). The spark plug is screwed into the cylinder head at one end and a spark plug cap on the other. The spark plug cap is attached to a cable that runs to the ignition coil.Well sure, you just cleaned your carb and filter, I would think any bike would run better after that.
