As for the ending, I have to say only one thing: Emma Cordelia Carstairs, if you proceed with your appalling plan, no power from Heaven or Hell will be able to save you from my wrath. Lady Midnight is populated with pretty much every kind of mythological and supernatural being you could wish for (witches, warlocks, werewolves, vampires, faeries to name a few), but none more intriguing than the Nephilim Shadowhunters, part-angel, part-human beings who adorn themselves with protective runes. The rest of the Blackthorns were without exceptions amazing characters, and I fought the urge to reach and hug Ty and tell him everything was going to be alright. I admit this, I got fed up by Clare's constant Edgar Allan Poe references and when I skimmed to the ending part and saw Annabel Lee from Allan Poe's poem being a mother fucking actual character in this book, I lost it and quit. A friend of mine told me she read something about a Lightwood being in love with their parabatai and the result was mortal to them back before The Infernal Devices and that’s it.

Reading this book will be fun cuz then I get to play 'take a shot whenever this reminds you of something' as far as my alcohol tolerance level will allow. Aside from beginning the pattern of nobility titles for The Dark Artifices book titles, Lady Midnight is also named after the Leonard Cohen song of the same name. Emma and Julian have always looked out for each other, fought together, chased away the bad dreams, bandaged the physical and the mental wounds. We haven't read such a brilliant mixture of razor-sharp wit and humour and spine tingling fear but above all a terrific page-turning read that will have you saying just one more page, then one more chapter and suddenly you've finished it. we see characters we know from TMI and TID (which made me SO GIDDY), but also see the back story to minor characters in the other series.It's one thing to hate AFTER the release and after you've given it a try, and it's another to hate it before =_= And SO FRIGGIN' WHAT? He had to go to the faerie realm because of reasons and now he's back to try to help the Blackthorns and Emma find who are murdering faeries and such.

If at this point y’all don’t know this is not a spoiler free blog and therefore my reviews contain untagged spoilers, then I don’t know what you guys are up to. I also am happy that Julian, the love interest, wasn't like all of the other love interests that we've seen so far in her books: jokey and sarcastic. From there on, this book is a non stop thriller with everything you could possibly want from a new installment of the Shadowhunter Chronicles. the evil villain, but was an action-packed mystery filled with family, friends, magic, murder, and forbidden love.
