About this deal

You will discover that you will have far more victories and you will be able to defeat the devil all along the way. Friends always try to set us up with shrimps. They’ve always got “the perfect guy,” who, they’ll say, is tall (generally). This is equivalent to being “kinda tall, with hair.” NOTE: If anyone ever says that to you, be ready to be set up with someone at least 5 inches shorter than you are. It’s a given. And pray in the Spiriton all occasionswith all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on prayingfor all the Lord’s people. – Ephesians 6:18 There are a lot of warnings about idle hands and idle talk. Idle hands bring hunger (Proverbs 19:15), cause house and family problems (Ecclesiastes 10:18) and virtually no chance for success (Eccl. 11:6). I've chosen to highlight this particular program in my last post for one reason and one reason only: Paul de Gelder. For those of you yet unfamiliar with this hero among heroes, let me sum it up for you:

Great Whites are, supposedly, apex predators, which by definition means there is NO GREATER NATURAL PREDATOR out there (i.e., no next rung to get to - this is it), so how can there possibly be something hunting them? Eli Martinez, a shark diver and conservationist, believes the only way that a predator could trump a Great White would be to put the Great White into an immobile state and wonders if other ocean predators have evolved and adapted, somehow figuring out how to exploit a shark's hidden weakness - tonic immobility.Be it toddlers, adolescents, adults, or geriatrics, anyone’s mind will turn into a mush staying inactive for a longer duration. Something wrong can happen does not mean one should stop enjoying life because we can majorly prevent many unfortunate situations with slight tweaks. Read on to understand the concept profoundly and its possible preventions. The extended meaning of the concept “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.”

I have often wondered whether especially those days when we are forced to remain idle are not precisely the days spend in the most profound activity. ” Last weekend, I spent a whirlwind, romantic few days with my man Gluttony, taking on the wilds of the wine country. Our eyes met over that first wine sip of the weekend, and I knew I was a gonner. From there, he led me down an endless path of confectionary items, cheeses, pastas and, of course, wine (think Templeton at the aftermath of the state fair...but with WINE). It was like he could see past my gums and into my soul. Gluttony, you managed to find your way into my heart, er, stomach, first by wafting the faint aroma of truffle just past by nose, knowing full well I was powerless to resist, and then by catching my eye with a chocolate truffle (that's right, TWO different truffle references in ONE sentence) - just one, you said, but then you kept them coming. I don't even crave chocolate, but it was there. LAY OFF ME I'M STARVING. Idleness is something that God dislikes. It is the state of being lazy, inactive and without motion. Worse, it is also the state of being superficial, pointless and purpose-less – something that God didn't create you for. When he lost his job, he decided to volunteer at a local charity because he knew that an idle brain was the devil's workshop. You cannot have an entire cast made up of pretty people. Your "survivors" should, at the very least, be missing some limbs OR LOOK DISHEVELED. You have tremendous freedom in Christ, but that freedom comes with great responsibility. There are lots of things you can do...but just because you can doesn’t mean you should. Sometimes your freedom messes up someone else. Cucumbers are quite simply the worst thing that has happened to food since, well, disease. Strong stance? Yes, but 100% ACCURATE and undeniable. In short, cucumbers are to main courses what lemon is to dessert: an uninvited guest whose very presence makes you want to shake your fist in outrage.

A young person for instance can get away with training intensely for multiple times a week by doing let’s say heavy weightlifting and sprinting sessions. What do you watch on TV? Have you ever considered turning the TV off from time to time (and not just when you are sleeping)? Do you find yourself scrolling endlessly on social media? What types of music are you listening to? What about the conversations you are having? All these things will impact your thinking. I should also note that there is a beard tipping point – a point at which you surpass ruggedness and pure sex and cross over the line to unkempt and likely-smelly. Sometimes, that line can be blurry. Like when you’ve hosted a healthy dose of stubble for years and decide to begin growing it out. I get it – there is a necessary transition window for growing your beard out. However, I think a fair rule to live by is if your beard is long enough to have its own flair, it is too long. For those of you that know me, it should come as no surprise that my first entry will be about a topic near and dear to my heart: SHARKS. I am someone who watches Discovery Channel's Shark Weekevery year. Not because it's fun or entertaining (though it is both of those things), but because I haveto. Why, you might ask? Because you need to know your enemy. Labour-saving devices just make us try to cram more pointless activities into each day, rather than doing the important thing, which is to enjoy our life.”I am equal parts terrified by and in awe of sharks, and the Great White Shark is at the top of my "Know Your Enemy" list. Yes, I have a list of enemies, and once you're on there, it is nearly impossible to get off. I'm looking at you, Mandy Moore(Note: I would have cited to IMDB, but I refuse to consider her an actress...which is a subject for another day). ANYWAY I want to make this clear from the outset: I think sharks are truly beautiful and amazing creatures. Creatures that are, literally, perfect killing machines. They haven't evolved in millions of years because they haven't had to. And because of my healthy respect for the species, I stay out of the water, and they stay off land...for now. Proverbs 4:23 encourages you to guard your heart. This means you have to be mindful of the things you allow in. What you read, see, and hear have great influence on what you think about. You must pay attention to these things. It's July 4th weekend - the one weekend when all anyone can think about is the beach, fireworks and a good old fashioned BBQ. And to be fair, that's all Katharine is thinking about, too...though she prefers her meat raw. She's even brought a bratty little sister along to join her at the table: Betsy. Betsy is a (slightly) smaller Great White Shark also presently calling the Gulf of Mexico home. She's moving a little slower than Katharine, but don't be fooled - she's just as real. This Thelma & Louise-like duo is taking our warm waters by storm, and I'm sure the rest of the shark "fuzz" won't be far behind. Put on the full armor of God,so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. – Ephesians 6:11

ALIEN SHARKS: Return to the Abyss: A program dedicated to exploring the deepest depths of the ocean in hopes of not only viewing the rarest shark species out there, but also discovering entirely new species of sharks. This is absolutely amazing - how is it that we are STILL discovering new creatures? The ocean floor is one of the least explored and understood parts of the wide world - less is known about our oceans and what is out there than space. Think about that for a minute. We live on earth and still know less about it than we do about what's NOT. ON. EARTH. FREAKY. And for example, let us take prison cells, a detention center created by people from all walks of the universe to pay for their crimes and misdoings. The concept behind putting people under detention is to make them feel guilty about their deeds, to make them regret their decisions, and hopefully have a better life in the years to come. But they are not put there to sit and do nothing, they are given daily tasks and duties to fulfill, books to read, and occasional movies; all based on the same concept that if they stay idle, their chances are improvement are way lesser than the chances of their minds getting infiltrated by the devil. So what is it about this mystical facial growth that draws ladies in like a moth to a flame? Aside from the distinctive badge of manliness that one wears while sporting a beard? It’s the fact that a beard-owner is rarely, if ever, found inept at survival skills. Let’s take a look:Cutting my chin open by tripping over the dog in my youth ( everytall person I know has a scar under his or her chin due to the same/similar injury); We know that exercising and being active has antidepressive properties, and that’s only logical when we factor in that working out releases endorphins such as dopamine that make us feel better by improving our mood. Human beings feel events that we experience as negative much more intensely than we do positive instances. Perhaps it comes as no surprise then that we have a disposition to think the worst, or to evaluate things as being more negative than they truly are. That’s what we call a negativity bias.
