About this deal
Bears were definitely roaming medieval Europe, especially in woodland areas in Eastern Europe and Alpine regions, although they wandered as far westwards as France and Belgium and as far north as Sweden. Shield your LEGO® Ideas: Medieval Blacksmith set against being knocked and damaged for peace of mind. This includes a stack of wood beneath what I expect will be the stairs, and some interior furniture including a workbench, grinding wheel, and large crate. When I am building sets for review, I’m constantly adjusting my expected rating for the set as I build. Usually working in iron and later steel, they would make all manner of things – nails, horseshoes, hinges, weapons, armour and hand tools, among many other practical and decorative things.
Our fair maiden could almost be mistaken to belong in a different era, with her torso also being suited to the Wild West. The well is a nice little touch to the set, but I can’t help but think that something is off about it. Half-timbered walls are framed with large beams of wood, and filled with a variety of materials including stone, brick, or woven sticks covered in plaster (known as wattle and daub). The 8th bag is a bit more involved, as it takes some time finish the walls, but also to carefully apply the exposed wooden beams to exposed studs on the exterior.
The timber slats detailing the upper two floors being a sense of depth to the building that continues all the way around the model to really set that older vibe. The one on the other side, however, is not secured at all so can be removed easily to access the interior. The dimensions are great and fit perfectly in width and height, wide enough to expose the Minifigure and narrow enough to save space on the shelf.
