At Rainbow High, students follow the G.L.A.M Squad, representing Grit, Love, Action, and Moxie! It’s all about being bold and creative rather than hiding in the shadows. The Rainbow High students are all about being the fashionistas of all dolls! In the episode “ The Final Runway Show” Poppy's dress is inspired by the monarch butterfly dress from Moschino Spring 2018. While being close and stable friends, Skyler and Jade do not interact very much, but they show a great deal of respect for each other's talents and contributions. Sunny and Poppy hit off their friendship nearly instantly, with Poppy being the one to cheer her up after learning about her dorm. After they get to know each other, they both become very close friends that often hang out both together and with their fellow roommate. The two are seen together frequently, showcasing their good friendship. As a student of Rainbow High, Sunny is an extremely talented and creative animator and artist. Befitting her interest, the characters she creates are usually adorable and highly stylized. After enrolling in the school, she modeled the characters in her animation projects after her friends.

Jade co-starred with River as his romantic interest in Holly and Laurel's play “A Winter Tale of Two Super Beautiful Enchantresses”. She also thought he was cute when she first saw him in " Bring On Rainbow Cheer". Sunny's hairstyle is likely a reference to the "Odango" hairstyle popularized by the title character of the anime Sailor Moon.Rewards expire one year from the date they were earned. If a reward has not been redeemed within one year, it will expire and will no longer be available for use. Jade's original prototype doll had darker skin and a very different style. It bears a strong resemblance to Karma Nichols, leading some fans to speculate that the prototype's design was eventually reworked into the latter's final doll. Both being music focused, Poppy and Daria get along well and have lots in common. Combining their skills, they have worked together on many music themed projects in their school, including their Radiant Week projects.
