About this deal

The storyline in "Night of Something Strange" turned out to be rather ridiculous, and it was really difficult to get into the groove of the movie and get immersed into the storyline. This is a perfect movie to see cold, so I won't get into any plot details other than it involves a deadly STD virus that turns people into something much worse than a zombie. Based on the plot description, I thought I was going to see a movie in the same vein as Cabin Fever but it's much closer in spirit to Slither or Dead Alive (aka Braindead). I list those two movies because they have a similar sense of fun and taking the audience for a gory ride. Lots of gross-out moments are played for big laughs and you will want to see this with as many people as you can because that is part of the fun - hearing people react to what they just witnessed. Horrible things will happen, bodily fluids will fly, and your friends will shriek, squeal, and try to cover their eyes while laughing at the same time. Five teenage friends just want to go to the beach for Spring Break. However, one of them gets a deadly sexually transmitted disease from a toilet seat and soon spreads it through the group as they spend the night at an isolated motel. What's even scarier than an STD? One that transforms you into the living dead. I don't know that anything in this film could be considered "intense" or scary. So much of it is tongue in cheek or ironic in nature that it's hard to take some of the "surprises" in such a serious way that they could be considered intense.

Scholarly analysis of the subgenre is, according to zombie studies scholar Sarah Juliet Lauro, limited because it does not take into consideration the Haitian origins of the figure. [28] She says figures like zombie matelas (mattress zombies), a Haitian class of zombie sex slaves, are informative in understanding the possible extent of agency in zombie porn. [28] See also [ edit ]Let me just say that this movie stops being entertaining very early on. It is a chore to watch this to write a review. Ojeda-Sagué, Gabriel (2 January 2021). The acting in the movie was actually quite adequate, taking into consideration the budget of the movie and the type of movie that it is. So the acting talents actually did good jobs with the limitations imposed on them.I don't recall whether this is rated R or Unrated, but it certainly should be the latter. The content is 100% adult and not meant for kids in any way, shape, or form. I don't think zombie movies are problematic for some kids to watch, but the sheer amount of sexual content and nudity in this film, not to mention the general plot, is for adults only. The trash "Night of Something Strange" is a brainless B-movie film so bad, nasty and gory that becomes funny. The film is a big joke of bad taste beginning with the names of the characters (Christine, Freddy, Carrie, Jason). The lead actor that performs Cornelius physically recalls the unforgettable Richard "Jaws" Kiel from the 007 franchise and does not have any line along 1h 34 min. The jokes are gross and most of them are related to sex and the scenes have lots and lots of gore. The make-up is amazing and if the viewer is fan of the Troma Entertainment B-movies, he or she will certainly like "Night of Something Strange". My vote is four. Most importantly however, Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis actually manipulates the host's behavior. Frogs infected with BD are lethargic but vocalize mating calls that are longer and more attractive. The infected frog essentially becomes a zombie, losing the motivation to do anything but mate and consume, spreading the disease. As of the present, a number of amphibian species have gone extinct due to this fungal condition. James J. Ward, a professor at Cedar Crest College, suggests that zombie porn's transgressions of the taboos against necrophilia and male viewers' fear of castration may be appealing for some. [19] At the same time, he argues that because zombie sex "raises the likelihood of" participants being literally destroyed, because zombies carry filth and disease, and because the zombie is ontologically blank—they have "no awareness and affect" and are driven by "the most primitive and carnal of all desires" (to eat)—zombie porn remains largely unappealing. [20] He concludes that zombie porn is neither new nor alluring. [21] Feminist philosopher Kelly Oliver writes that zombie porn, like snuff pornography, is a kind of "pseudo-necrophilia"—altogether similar to rape—that reflects some men's aggressive sexual attitudes. [22] The film Deadgirl (2008; sometimes labeled a kind of torture pornography), where a zombie woman is turned into a sex slave and repeatedly raped, is one example given by Oliver and horror researcher Steve Jones. [23] Normally I am a big zombie aficionado, but "Night of Something Strange" just was way too far out there, even for my liking. Not knowing what to expect from this one I saw it was supposed to be a funny horror. Funny horrors mostly doesn't work out but there are exceptions like this one. Second, the dialog isn't up there with "satire" or "this movie makes a farce of" kind of thing. The dialog is bad. It's stilted and ridiculous most of the time. Lines that are intended to sound cool are just terrible. Oh and folks get the mics in the right positions next time cause when you hear the echos from the actors that just makes it sound unprofessional. In the Australian film Dead Alive, The reanimated corpse of a priest fornicates with a zombified nurse while unattended in the protagonist's basement. Shortly thereafter, the cadaverous nurse gives birth to an infant zombie, making this perhaps the only instance of procreative zombie sex. The infant exhibits extreme agility and near-indestructibility, suggesting that if zombie sexual reproduction ever became commonplace, the offspring might be more dangerous. On the other hand, being dead, it is unlikely that zombie offspring could grow beyond a fetal stage, and even that would depend on whether enough living cells remained in the corpse. Bodies dead more than a few days would be unable to procreate. It was the movie's cover/poster that initially caught my attention, and it looked very much like a 1980's horror movie. I read the synopsis and then decided to sit down and watch "Night of Something Strange".
