About this deal

well you see this book introduced me to spirituality virtually, slowly I learnt to know the facts behind fiction and lastly the result of all the churning in my mind is the conclusion-

If you read this book, you will be able to cope with the fussiness and being perfectionist of a Virgo. You will also understand why people born under the sign of Gemini have two or multiple personality that sometimes lead you to confusion. You will be able to adjust with the tranquility and slow pacing personality of Taurean, level up the energy and cheerfulness of Sagittarius, praise the Leon, laugh with the jokes of moody Cancerian, be as ambitious as Capricorn, as sweet as Pisceans and as friendly as Aquarians. We will also realize our desire to find out the mistery of Scoprion, the enthusiasm of people born under the sign of Aries and the beauty and judgement of Libran.Lastly, there are some very interesting things in here, like what she says about anagrams, but most of the book is personal opinions of hers about everything from ghosts to politics. She rambled a LOT. And told tons of personal stories about people that went nowhere. And placed way too much importance on people’s Sun signs, which is weird for an astrologer to do. She should’ve known better. The Sun sign is the last thing I look at, if I look at it at all, and I do chart readings full time. Horowitz, Mitch (2009). Occult America: The Secret History of How Mysticism Shaped Our Nation. Random House Digital. p.253. ISBN 9780553806755. This book is the same. It's credibility was not helped by the fact that the personal reputation / credibility of the author is quite low (she was quite naive throughout her life evidenced in the way she handled money or signed contracts, started some kind of a cult with her 20 year younger lover, and kept believing that her daughter is not dead after her tragic suicide at a very young age (the last of which is more sad than crazy); but overall the image is of a tragic yet flimsy woman.) However, speaking of the book itself, the writing is all over the place and the author goes into rambling tirades. It has random platitudes and drivel rather than enough actual substance - art of deflection is something astrologers are experts at. Even the substance that was there, I did not find true (at least for the Aquarius - Sagittarius match in terms of personality traits described). To be fair, it does seem like she actually believes this stuff though. Holden, James H. (2006). "Linda Goodman and Sun Signs". A History of Horoscopic Astrology (2nded.). American Federation of Astrologers. ISBN 9780866904636. Then, after all the talk of properly adhering to Mother Nature's blueprints for men and women, Goodman makes such statements as this, from the Libra Man/Libra Woman section:

I think the message is good hopeful. she explains it in with wisdoms. And 8 apractical way to use the signs to get to know youself. I have switched to Vedic astrology,it works for everyone very specifically with accuracy of precision and timing versus western which can analyze a man's character pretty well but prediction wise,a big faillll!!! she said believe and just that believe and expect a miracle,!!!now what a fool,as of the whole world just by faith!!she never mentioned that we need action to achieve our goals, not just belief, since she wrote from the judeo-abrahamnic Christian ideology I felt I had to come on here and review this book today because nobody paid much attention to my review of Liz Greene's "Astrology For Lovers", which is quite simply the best astrology book ever published in the history of the world. If the whole world was going up in flames and there was only time to save one book for posterity I expect most people would save the dictionary or the complete Shakespeare, but I would definitely be rescuing Liz Greene from the flames.Robert Mcg. Thomas Jr. (25 October 1995). "Linda Goodman, Writer Turned Astrologer, Dies". nytimes.com . Retrieved 17 November 2023.

Linda Goodman was born in Morgantown, West Virginia. Although she never revealed her year of birth, swearing even her father to silence, it emerged posthumously that she was born in 1925. According to data collector Frank C. Clifford, Linda was born in Morgantown on April 9, 1925, at 6:05a.m. Clifford cites Linda's birth certificate as his source. Her father's name was Robert Stratton Kemery; her mother's maiden name was Mazie McBee. By her own account, Goodman was born in her maternal grandparents' house on 115 Kingwood Street. She attended and graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1943 aged 18 years. Linda Goodman's Sun Signs" is to "Astrology For Lovers" as the Datsun Cherry is to the Bugatti Veyron. There is not one single thing that Goodman does even half as well as Greene. The only people who give this book the time of day are the people who are not aware that the Liz Greene book exists. Had Liz Greene's publishers not for some inexplicable reason insisted the word "Lovers" be incorporated into her title (it was originally called "Star Signs For Lovers",) a lot more people would have read it, I feel sure. Embark on your cosmic path to self-discovery with this comprehensive guide to the twelve signs of the zodiac.I was 16 or 17 when I read the book!!!I genuinely believed in word druids, immortality, weight loss and so many theories!!!!I was so enchanted, but it made me the most unrealistic and spoiled my adolescence Goodman made Cripple Creek, Colorado, her home during the latter part of her life. She first lived in a small Victorian house on Carr Street ("the little crooked house on the crooked little street") and later moved to a newer home on the outskirts of the main town. Both homes still boast her spiritually themed stained-glass windows. The house on Carr Street is now a bed and breakfast. She died in Colorado Springs, Colorado, on October 21, 1995, at the age of 70, from complications of diabetes. So you see, Goodman never claims that women are inferior to men. She insists at every turn that the man must be in charge of a romantic relationship, though she never states it quite that explicitly. If it puzzles you that she repeatedly expresses support for the ERA, yet describes dominance as "masculine" and submission as "feminine," your reaction indicates not that you are blind to any strand of esoteric wisdom, but that you do not share Goodman's Victorian interpretations of gender. You see, to Goodman, virtually everything exists on a dichotomy. Characteristics are either masculine or feminine, and what characteristics are which depends on the way they have been seen traditionally. Thus, dominance, power, force, determination, stubbornness, and boldness are masculine; submission, gentleness, passivity, dependence, receptiveness, and nurturing are feminine. For this reason, Goodman heavily implies that Aries women are liberated because they are "masculine" and that Pisces women enjoy being submissive because they are "feminine." In this way, Linda Goodman's Love Signs reinforces gender polarization while promoting the women's rights movement. Wendy was clearly a Cancerian--motherly, possessive, gentle and imaginative, trying out her wings in a flight of fancy under the Full Moon, as Moon Maidens often do. No strong Sun Sign harmony between them, you see, so they quarreled now and then, and each heard a different drummer. Wendy ended up in the final chapter as nearly all Cancerians do, safe and secure. No matter how wistfully her heart longed to fly again, she chose home, marriage and children as her ultimate dreams; while Peter, like nearly all Geminis, continued his eternal search for a brighter rainbow, somewhere beyond...still obsessed by twin desires, longing to settle down with Wendy, yet longing just as fiercely to remain free—and true to himself (Goodman, 2). paradoxically absurd-she talks of not killing anyone, plants thinking((pseudoscience!!) and then justifies the genocide of millions of red indian by white racist british colony in America!!!what a joke???

The real draw, if you can dignify it with such a designation, of Linda Goodman's output is her hokey writing style. Her first book, Linda Goodman's Sun Signs, frequently read like a corny pop ballad from the 1930s, but it was still just barely sensible enough for a believer to consider it credible. The sentimentality of Linda Goodman's Love Signs is exaggerated enough to be a "New Age Bobby Goldsboro song," as one third party put it. For instance, take this elucidation on the Sun signs of Peter and Wendy from Peter Pan:I have highlighted i greatly and it's always by my bed. Have do and will continue to read it to everybody. My family, Young people and the couple section helps you learn the others sign with comparability.
