About this deal

The follow up support has been just as good and will definitely be using Stormsure the company and Stormsure glue again with lots of other things. Ideally, you will find an alternative method such as using a bonding adhesive. Ensure that it’s suitable for use with footwear. If it isn’t, it could actually do even more damage to your boots. Do your research and find out what works. Just as you might do with a bicycle tire patch, you may find that you may need to patch the area of your boot regularly if you want to extend the life of your wellies. You should also familiarise yourself with how to store Wellington boots to ensure they last even longer.

Autumn is here and Winter will not be far around the corner so it is time to get out my winter boots. Towards the end of last Winter or the beginning of Spring I noticed that my boots were suffering from a little wear and tear (both my wellington boots and more heavy duty walking boots). But as the weather started warming up a bit I didn’t really give much thought to getting them repaired as you wouldn’t be needing them for a while. So I just put them in the cupboard and thought I’ll get round to them when I need them again. But, of course life happens and I never did! It should be strong enough not putting etc grooves in but as it is in the area that bends a lot any extra strength will help. If you have a bicycle tire repair kit, you’re good to go. There are different types of repair kits, but you shouldn’t have any trouble fixing your Wellington boots. Just follow these simple instructions:Use the rubber solution or adhesive that comes in the kit. Apply a very thin layer and leave it for 2-3 seconds. Next, take the patch you have made and gently place it on top of the solution or adhesive. Ensure that the edges have been pressed down firmly. If you have invested in a quality pair of wellies, it is worth looking after them so that they continue to perform as you would expect.

Martin Lewis: Do you have a Power of Attorney? It’s crucial protection – not just for the elderly – and more important than a will I wondered if there was anything I could get that I could just run along the seam and maybe repair the leak? Something like a kind of glue, or silicone? Clean off mud and dirt from the damaged area with a light detergent and water. Then clean well with a chemical cleaner, such as acetone. To re-attach soles to uppers squeeze Stormsure into the affected area and place the boot on a flat surface and place a weight inside the boot to hold the repair together. Remove the weight after 12 hours. Stormsure is the main brand from Stormsure Ltd. Stormsure Flexible Repair Adhesive is the Flagship product and where Stormsure begin it's journey 20 years ago. Stormsure Flexible repair Adhesive is our very own formula which works differently to almost all other adhesives on the market today. It's polyurethane composition and moisture curing properties make it completely waterproof, extremely durable and very very strong making it the perfect solution for almost any repair!PRO TIP: Aquaseal SR is also great for fixing delaminated soles, building toe caps, flexible knee patches, and rebuilding worn soles. Cleaning your Hunter wellies is a crucial step in maintaining their pristine appearance and keeping them free from dirt and grime. To clean your wellies effectively, follow these simple steps:

Hi, That’s amazing news ???? The time spent in preparation is definitely worth while! So glad it has worked so well (we knew it would if applied correctly).

Keep Stormsure in a cool dry place away from incompatible materials, direct sunlight and sources of ignition. If you have an old pair of rubber boots where the leather or rubber is perished, or you have stepped on a nail or punctured your boot with a tool, Stormsure glue is the perfect solution. You can cover, renovate and seal the perished area, plug the hole or patch the tear with this excellent product. If you have a zip in your boots, make sure you keep it clean and free from grit. When boots are clean, spraying the zip with the same silicon-based spray, waxing or using the amazing Ezip will keep it moving freely. It is worth noting that 95% of zip failures are down to grit! If you’d rather repair your Wellington boots in a way that doesn’t require regular repatching, consider using double-sided tape. If you go this route, you'll need the following supplies: To slow this process, it is worth washing the boots down with water (and a light detergent if necessary) when they get muddy or at least every 2-3 months. Then, when dry, spray them with a quality silicon-based spray (we sell Aigle Swipol and Le Chameau sprays). This will ‘feed’ the rubber and stop it ‘crazing’ and perishing, keeping it supple and completely waterproof.

Adhesive tape can also be used to repair wellies, although it may only work as a temporary measure. Tape can last a while, but it’s most likely only a temporary solution. Anyway, my current pair have sprung leaks. I have a leak on both boots, in the same place. It's on the side of the ball of the foot, you know, where the big toe joint is. I can't see any holes and with it being on the same place on both feet I suspect that it's wear and tear on the seam. Apart from that the boots are still in great shape despite being about 10 years old and having had a lot of wear. Pay attention when considering what adhesive to use on your wellies because some, such as super glue, may not work with particular types of rubber. Using the bicycle tire repair kit method is effective when done properly and should result in watertight wellies you can use to walk through puddles; however, it may not be enough to wade through strong streams of water. Apply Stormsure directly to the area, allowing an extra 5mm around the damaged area. Keep flat and allow to cure. Stormsure is touch dry in 2-4 hours. Allow 10-12 hours for full cure. Stormsure Flexible Repair Adhesive can repair everything from worn material to a large hole. Repairs are waterproof, flexible and resistant to abrasion (weather and water abrasion). Allow 24 hours for the adhesive to cure.On completion: Squeeze contents right to the top of the tube and cap, leaving no air under the cap. Roll up the tube. Partially used tubes may be kept in the freezer. Warm to room temperature before using again. Have you ever noticed white marks or ashy gray streaks on old or even new rubber boots? This is a normal process called "blooming." While blooming is characteristic of natural rubber, they aren’t very nice to look at. Here’s how to properly remove unsightly streaks using a rubber conditioner. The good news is that chalk is usually provided with every puncture repair kit. Wait until the adhesive has dried before you add any chalk or else you’ll create a bit of a mess on your wellies. Once it has dried nicely, add some chalk around the area that you applied the patch to. Your Repaired Wellington Boots
