That seems like the logical preference, with the dramatically smaller file sizes being much-preferred. You also have to delve into the menu system to switch between AF and MF modes, or use the dedicated button on the lens (if there is one).
The Sony A7C can shoot and record 4K video in multiple formats, including full-frame and the Super 35mm formats. The RAW samples illustrate just how much processing the camera does by default, though, as they're noisier at the higher ISO values than their JPEG counterparts, with fewer unwanted colour artifacts. We're slightly surprised that Sony didn't included a dual-format SD/ CFexpress Type A card slot in the A6700 to take full advantage of its processing power and video capabilities. As it is, both cameras use a single SD UHS II compatible card slot, so there are no differences here. 9. The A7C R has a slightly higher-resolution 3-inch, 3:2 ratio LCD screen than the A7C - 1.03 million versus 922,000 dots - but we'd have expected to see a much higher resolution screen on a new camera released in 2023, especially one that some may consider to be a flagship model.
We do think, though, that the A7C R should have a better LCD screen and electronic viewfinder given its much more expensive than the similarly-specced A7C II model. The Sony A7C uses the "standard" menu design from the other Alpha Ax-series cameras. Sadly it does not use the much-improved menu system from the most recent A7S III model, as apparently that is onlysupported by the very latest BIONZ XR processor. There is now a second command dial at at the top of the A7C R's handgrip which makes it even easier to change the key exposure settings in conjunction with the rear command dial and the secondary rear-panel scroll wheel that doubles up as the 4-way navigation buttons.Sony creates a database while formatting memory cards, and the entire format process is long, taking about 8 seconds to format the 64GB UHS-II SDXC card. I adopted the Sony a7C for my recent general-purpose uses, including several family events such as the annual family outing to cut down the Christmas tree and for my passport renewal selfie. We're also not sure why it can't match the A7R V's 8K video or 10fps burst shooting performance, given that they share exactly the same sensor and processor.
The A7R V does offer a much better viewfinder and LCD screen, dual memory card slots, slightly better IBIS, faster burst shooting, and slightly more advanced video recording including 8K quality. On the A7C there are 693 phase-detection points and 425 contrast detection points that cover 93% of the frame, with the system working all the way down to -3EV low-light. This is a tiny, feature-filled, full-frame mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (MILC) that performs as superbly as we expect from a Sony alpha model. the Sony a7C set to "HI+" continuous drive mode, ISO 100, a 1/4000 shutter speed, a wide-open aperture, and manual focus, 40 uncompressed raw images before the buffer fills. The Sony A7C features a fairly good, but certainly not class-leading, XGA OLED electronic viewfinder.

Also, IBIS can work in conjunction with OSS (in-lens Optical Steady Shot) for enhanced overall performance. Going from 5 fps to 10 fps is significant and shifted this camera well into sports and fast action speed range. The latest versions of Imaging Edge Desktop? Viewer and Edit applications are required for compositing. Image compositing may not be successful if camera or subject movement causes blur. The use of a tripod is recommended, as is the use of PC tethered control or a remote commander. Uncompressed RAW and silent mode are automatically selected for Pixel Shift Multi Shooting. Some restrictions apply to flash and other devices. The effective Dynamic Range Optimizer function extracts more detail from the shadow and highlight areas in an image, without introducing any unwanted noise or other artifacts. A larger, higher resolution screen, perhaps even 16:9 rather than 3:2, would have made the A6600 more competitive with its main rivals.
