As all Saurus, the Guard has access to Tearing Bite allowing them for a Triple to add as much as 6 to the damage on hit and critical hits! The Skink Alpha with Moonstone Club is the cheapest leader of the warband and shares the same melee profile of the Alpha with Boltspitter.

Starlight Summons– Power 13+ (3 mortal wounds for failure). You get to summon 10 Saurus Warriors or 20 Skinks. Those “Star-borne” appear as being made of celestial light and are seen conjured to the battlefield directly from their spaceships by the powerful Slann giving credit to the myth that they are actually spectres. Saurus Guard are now 2 wounds each and remain a 4+ save, and a slight points increase means they’re almost twice as durable as before, though they don’t go in any usable battalions which limits your access to low drops if you want to run these guys. The Saurus Sunblood and Oldblood, two previously forgotten foot dorks, have now both gained command abilities that grant +1 to hit and +1 to wound, though in different ways. The +1 to hit is to a Saurus unit wholly within 18”, while the +1 to wound is to ALL Saurus units against a unit within 12” of the Sunblood. Scar Veterans’ changed command ability now grants exploding 6s to a single Saurus keyword unit wholly within 18”. The Astrolith Bearer can also give Saurus a 6+ Feel No Pain save, which is a nice buff to durability. Kroxigor Warspawned are a spawn-breed marked by the wrathful god Sotek. Once a rare sight, the Era of the Beast has seen the arrival of more and more Warspawned – battle-bred brutes who are barely functional outside of combat, requiring skink attendants to clean and feed them. Should anyone lay a finger on their devoted assistants, these crocodilian killers fly into an apoplectic rage. Seraphon Army Set Neither Saurus nor Skink: for those undecided a Slann Starmaster, 1 Kroxigor,3 Salamander and 1 Razordon. You could swap 2 Salamanders for a Kroxigor and a Skink Handler. How to buy a Seraphon Warcry WarbandAtlor-ke - Ku-Quar - Klaq-Tor - Maq'uat - Narok-Gar - Oxtl-Kor - Quar-Toc - Suqek - Sutok - Takatakk - Taktak'rillo - Xoat’ar - Starblood Stalkers ( Kixi-Taka - Klaq-Trok - Otapatl - Tok - Xepic - Huachi) Kixi-Taka has the same identical profile of a Skink Starpriest but without access to his ability. In exchange he can buff all friendly fighters within 9″ increasing by 1 both Move and Toughness. And he costs much less. The rage score is generally less something to aspire to, since it would encourage you to not kill an opponent, and more a the reason to make your opponent want to avoid a protracted fight with this thing, because it’s just going to get deadlier. He knows the Slann lore of whichever army you put him in, but not both. This does make him a higher value since base Slann can’t hot swap spells for free anymore (and Coalesced ones at all). He dropped to a very nice 395 which makes him even more appealing – if he wasn’t before. Slann Starmaster

Army Weaknesses

Toughness 5 makes them the most resilient fighters, and the 15 wounds (20 for the Alpha) can absorb all but most severe critical hits.

Coalesced are the more monster-focussed and Saurus based army, increasing the damage output and resistance of your units. A couple of models have either been squatted entirely or given new names. This is largely due to redundancy, with heroes either not really having a role to fulfill. In other cases, new names have been introduced. For the sake of clarity, these are the models that do not appear in the book:This guy is…weird? Sadly he lost a lot of his utility – though he did make up for it in other ways. He doesn’t grant you 3D6″ charge anymore (which would be really nice with all the new cavalry that just came out), nor does he grant extra CP. He does however have 2 spell casts per turn, which makes him a nice support piece. Scry the Stars lets you roll a number of dice equal to the battle round and for each 2+ grant a 5+ ward. It’s got unlimited range, but you will probably drop this round 2 or 3 since that’s where most games get decided. Finally he has a nice niche warscroll spell, Celestial Doom which shuts off Wards to a unit within 12″. Not always useful but if you go up against an army with Wards you will be so happy he’s here. Skink Starpriest But many Seraphon abandoned their ships and settled in the various corners of the Mortal Realms showing more the flesh and blood aspect that characterizes all of them. With Rain Met eoric Barrage they can perform damage at the end of their movement phase, by hitting an enemy model with 1” for as much damage as the value of the ability. The first Seraphon arrived in temple ships from the void and stayed in Azyr so long that they became part of the Realm of Heavens itself.

Meteoric Barrage (Triple, all Terradon Riders except Terradon Chief): At the end of the next move action allocate up to 6 damage to an engaged enemy fighter. Saurus Eternity Warden –There’s already too many melee Saurus warriors, this ones an old Finecast model that almost never saw play anyway. Could proxy it as an Oldblood. This is another one of the older boxes and though it predates Nighthaunt as an army, is probably the closest box to a Nighthaunt Start Collecting one. Skink Priest –Presumably because the model was old and it was hard to give it something to do with the hero heavy book. Can always proxy the model as a Star Priest. This decision will greatly influence your next choices, including sub-factions or Constellations, and which battle traits, command traits or artefacts are relevant to you. Starborne rules in Seraphon ArmyA Starmaster is a powerful wizard, in Warcry represented by Lords of Space and Time, that for a Triple allows to relocate any friendly fighter within 12″ to any other place within as many inches as the value of the ability. Neither function as garrisons anymore, and in fact are now Impassable. Hurts for units of blowdart skinks, but frequently you wanted to hide stuff behind it rather than in it. Conclusion You’re likely still going to bring Kroak or this guy, you can do without it but you need a damn good reason, they do too much as the center pillar of your army to ignore.
