I just felt so awful for the heroine over how damn selfish, inconsiderate, and self absorbed the hero was.

Not overly dramatic but Walsh cleverly builds to the ‘reveal’ and it’s not quite as expected – which I appreciated. There's this endearing vulnerability to go along with her spine of steel and determination to make a life for herself and her daughter that you have a tremendous amount of respect for.
