About this deal

The Dyneema fabric of the Arc Blast’s body is super-lightweight, water-resistant, and abrasion-resistant. A Velcro roll-top closure keeps water out — even in gnarly storms. It comes with an adjustable and removable sternum strap to help distribute the weight when you have a heavier load.

We recently took the newest Capacitor on a mountaineering trip with Helly Hansen in the North Cascades. Hauling days of food and gear for our basecamp up near vertical, washed-out trails was a comfortable cinch with this hardworking beast, and the suspension system kept us about as comfortable as one can be. Dual ice-axe loops allowed for easy transport of our alpine climbing gear. The large front zippered compartment is made of tough material, and was perfectly sized for our spiky crampons. In addition, others noted that its exterior shows scuffs with time- and as you know, a scratched-up bag just doesn’t look professional. Travel wash bag: Separate travel bags can provide smart storage, and some have a hook so you can hang them up in the bathroom or in your tent. They're perfect for organising your belongings when travelling. Also, the front of the bag features a bungee cord system meant for lashing external gear on like a yoga mat. Thanks to the effective pads and highly customizable fit, the Redwing sits close to the body, moving with the wearer rather than against it. Principally designed for commuting but capable of taking a lot more than the urban hustle in its stride, the Osprey Nebula is among the best bags of its type. It’s stuffed with padded slots and pouches for all your laptop, tablet and smartphone storage needs, yet capacious enough to hold up to 34l of gear for a day out on the trails.

Having a separate rain cover is a nice touch, but do use it if the heavens open as the seams on the main bag aren’t sealed, so it won’t take that long to get saturated. Capacity and ease of use: We considered the recommended age range against what our kids actually needed to tote around. We also asked the kids how well the bags fit their belongings and how easy it was to put things in, take things out, and keep things organized. A built-in concealed carry holster, insulated hydration bladder compartment, and a padded laptop storage area round out the bag. Built with features for various occasions, this bag is a handy everyday companion. Despite feeling gossamer thin, the Antilano is actually double lined and the use of 30-denier rip-stop nylon (100-denier on the base) protects it from tears, and, combined with the roll-top closure also makes it very waterproof. The internal waterproof liner is velcroed into place, and easily removable, great if you want to shave grams of weight on a dry day, or for taking dry kit into the tent while leaving a soaking bag out to dry. This bag is made of 100% post-consumer recycled polyester materials with a DWR coating to make sure your stuff is protected if you do get caught in the rain. With its rugged construction and technical features, this bag can hold up to heavy loads without sacrificing comfort or ease in carrying it all! When you’re out for your adventure, you’ll find the Allpa very comfortable to wear especially if you’re of average height (sorry tall folks). We tested the smallest Redwing — 30 L and close to three pounds. It isn’t ultralight, but the extra weight is a natural byproduct of the robust build quality. It’s not ideal for light and fast thru-hiking, but it works well for just about everything else. The reason there’s a sheen on the bag is that it’s combined with a TPU film laminate for added abrasion and weather resistance.

However, be careful not to tighten them so much that they cause discomfort, pain, or restrict your breathing. Other noteworthy features include an internal hydration bladder sleeve, dual ice axe loops, and a versatile compression system that offers additional exterior storage. While not as light as some, the Osprey is so well balanced you’ll barely notice the extra grams, and the Robic 100 per cent post-industrial recycled high tenacity nylon, while extremely thin is tough, surviving gorse during a misguided shortcut, with ease. This one is durable and has all of the features that will work for whatever adventure awaits, whether that means exploring new cities or going camping in lakeside tents with friends. If your kiddo is old enough to adjust their straps by themselves, then we think this bag’s durable (and sustainable) construction and attractive look make it well worth the price. After extensively testing both the regular 50+5L and women’s-specific 45+5L SL versions, we can confidently say we would trust, and enjoy, taking this on a long journey across the country. It carries loads as comfortably and evenly as the best of them.

Beyond that though, it feels premium with metal fastenings and well-considered design elements such as a waterproof nylon outer-shell and flush hidden zippers which will keep even the most torrential rain out. The lightweight bag’s zippers are easy for small hands to manipulate, and the 600-denier polyester material cleans up nicely—even after a fall in the mud, we were able to get it looking as good as new using a cloth and warm water. The fabric and colors also held up well in the rain and snow. With multiple capacities available from 38l to 68l, the superb Osprey Kestrel (for men) and Kyte (for women) let hikers choose which size they want based on the length of their expedition. We tried the 58l Kestrel on a four-day hiking and camping trip and were thoroughly impressed by its overall comfort and impressive range of technical features. This bag comes in multiple solid color and print options. The material isn't super soft, but it's not rough or irritating, and it hasn't scuffed or ripped. We wish the zippers had larger holes so we could attach an AirTag, but we don't think this is a major downside. (There are two ribbons on the front that kids can clip small plush toys to, though.) Ask your friend to measure the length between your C7 vertebra and the center point of your spine at the level of your thumbs. This distance is your torso measurement.
