Passport Office staff in Durham, Glasgow, Liverpool, Newport, Peterborough and Southport will take industrial action from 3 April to 5 May.

In response to all the recent strike action, the government has brought in a new law known as the anti-striking bill. This law essentially gives the government the right to limit the levels of strike action that unions are allowed to take. Thousands of teachers across England and Wales also went on strike on 1 February after the largest education union reached the threshold required to take industrial action. Industrial action is when employees take action against their employer because of a work dispute. This is usually organised by a trade union.
