This textbook is somewhat inconsistent. As for the structure, some chapters contains more information than other chapters. In another word, some chapters use a bullets format, but the others use a paragraph format and try to explain more detailed information. Although all of the important topics for an Intro to Bio course are listed as chapters, unfortunately, they are often missing information and details.
This book does not contain too many figures. It might be a good way in some purpose, for example, you only want to use this book as a study guide. However, as a real textbook, it definitely needs more graphs and figures to improve the readability of this textbook. I learned it was always best to use peer reviewed materials.
